Wow, this is hard finding the perfect place to stay! This is our 1st time staying off property. We have stayed at an OKW 1bedroom last year and thought we would try off property this time.

We have found a 4 bd villa we love that has a great price. It had the feel we want in a house plus the desired pool and spa in the back yard. Now with 3 we really don't need that much room but is the way to get the hot tub and pool right there.....

We are going in December though..... I know there will be warmer days and cold days but I have a 3 1/2 year old that will want to swim (but hates to be cold too so not to sure on how much swimming) We do want the hot tub because that is something we have here at our house and regularly use.

YET.....

The idea of a condo is appealing to because it would save us $400... Close to the pool but not sure if we would go if it were not right there, we never used the OKW pool last year in Nov but mostly because we were so far from it and tired at the end of each day.

We really only do the parks in the AM so we have time to swim if it is close I guess.

And sure I like to save money but not at the risk of missing out on what we would use.

What do you think?
Thanks!!!

How about trying something in between a pool villa and a condo.........a townhome. You can find them with hot-tubs or splash pools and they will be in a resort setting with community facilities.

Try a site like www.homeaway.com to search as you can reduce the number of homes by your own specific requirements :)

Good luck with your search - ir's not easy somewhere just right :goodvibes

The solution is to make sure you get the optional pool heat, then you'll be able to swim every day! Also, ask if the owners supply a pool blanket, it's important to keep the heat in the pool, especially at nights. Some of the splash pools have jets, and while not a 100% true hot tub, they do offer a nice compromise. (As found in Windsor Hills townhomes for instance).

I agree about condo and resort / community pools, it's a ton easier to swim frequently when it's 5 feet out your back door and you don't need to relocate your whole group over to the community area, which is why we loved Windsor Hills townhomes so much we ended up buying one after vacationing there 2x ourselves!

There are other great choices in the area as well though too, this is the place to look for suggestions!

I agree with the townhouse with a splash pool but make sure you have it heated. We had the splash pools heated in the two townhouses that we've stayed in at WH. We were there last Feb/Mar and the splash pool was plenty warm 85 - 90F. Even when it's chilly in the evening you're warm while in the water and only a couple of steps from your patio doors. It's very convenient when you don't want to bother to go to the big pool.

We agree it is so convenient having your own private pool and spa right in the back yard. If that's what you want on your vacation, then it has to be a pool home with a spa. Otherwise, the townhome or condo options will work out cheaper - though you will probably find the pool home option will still be less expensive than onsite.

Meet all your needs and for the 400 extra you might be spending your son will get all his needs met also. Its a win win situation. For us a pool is the second thing the kids like about our trips still and we go twice a year. I think they are part fish. If the water is heated my kids will use it every day. So worth it to us. My son went in the air temp was 42 getting out was a bit chilly but it sure as heck did not stop him.
