Help me decide BCV or BWV

Hi

I was wondering if someone can tell me the difference between the 2 bedroom villas at the beach club and boardwalk..which one in your opinion is better?

BCV has Storm Along Bay. I like the table set up in the dining room better. There are dedicateds, (some with two queen beds, some with a bed and a pullout) and lockoffs. The BC atmosphere is a little quieter.

BWVs has bigger closets. All two bedrooms are lockoffs. You have three choices of view. The BW atmosphere is a little busier.

Personally, I think they are fairly interchangable. They are close enough that the restaurants, transportation and location are pretty much the same. The bookable views at BWVs are nice, as are the dedicateds at BCVs (though both need to be booked early to get the in demand types), leaving SAB as the real factor. Most people really like SAB, some people don't or it really doesn't factor.

The difference is pretty much the color scheme, as far as the rooms go. We prefer the lighter colors of BCV - it makes the room feel larger.

Im super confused about this one.

This past May we stayed at the beach club..I loved the hotel but the standard room was a little blah i thought.

I love stormalongbay and the marketplace at the Beach CLub. and i liked how at the MK after wishes the yacht and beach had their own buses ...

But i had seen a villa at the boardwalk and liked that 2. I dont like the pool at the boardwalk but last may at the bc we were there for 8 nights and i only made it to the pool ONE DAY I like the overall vibe at the boardwalk better and i guess im confused because i had actually seen a boardwalk villa and i have never seen a beach club one..so im confused.

The comparison between the two resorts is subjective at best but I'll give you my take. I don't think the BCV compare to BWV if you are only talking about the rooms. The boardwalk view rooms are at a different level than anything the BCV has to offer. In fact most standard view rooms are nicer than the BCV roomsas far as view. I feel the rooms feel larger and I like the layout of the bathroom better in the one bedroom units.

If you like being in the middle of the action than Boardwalk is better. If you want quiet more tucked away accomodations than BCV offers a quiet retreat from the noise while still being close to everything.

The food options are better on the BCV side especially if you are on the DDP plan. CP is pretty sparse at BW. However if you are dining without it than the option of the Swann and dolphin location restaurants fills any missing gap at BW.

I'm a pool person but SAB is too crowded for my taste and difficult to get a chair. While I love Beaches and Cream for lunch its tough to get into because it is very small. The BWV have three choices of pools, the main stephen king clown pool(scary at night), the community hall pool and my favorite ..the pool on the Inn side which is in a rose garden setting.

If I'm not getting a Boardwalk view room than if I had to move to BCV I wouldn't care as it is close enough to my taste to be a suitable alternative but I wouldn't trade the SAB pool for a boardwalk view room ever.

Two differences I haven't seen mentioned

Community Center: BWV has one; BCV does not

Location:
BWV is about 10 minutes closer to MGM than BCV
BCV is about <5 minutes closer to EPCOT than BWV
BWV is about 10 minutes closer to Hess station than BCV (good for beer runs if nothing else)

BCV also have a quiet pool much closer then SAB...no problems getting chairs there or relaxing...and you don't have to walk thru BC to get to this pool. Just right down BCV elevators and turn right down the sitting room and out the door to the pool. I prefer BCV because it is a closer walk to EPCOT where we do most of our dining. Both are very nice.

The other reason I am kinda of leaning towards the Beach Club is because in case it rains and we wanted to get a quick bite to eat you are able to walk indoors to get something..(am I right?) Im pretty sure i am

If it wasnt for the above reason and SAB..I would probably go to the Boardwalk.

You were specifically asking about the 2-bedroom villas. One thing to note is that BWV does not have dedicated 2-bedroom villas whereas BCV has 78 dedicated 2-bedroom villas.

BWV - 97 Dedicated Studios - 130 Dedicated 1Bdrm - 0 Dedicated 2Bdrm - 149 Lockoffs - 7 Grand Villas = 383 Units / 532 Max. Available Rooms

BCV - 36 Dedicated Studios - 20 Dedicated 1Bdrm - 78 Dedicated 2Bdrm - 74 Lockoffs - 0 Grand Villas = 208 Units / 282 Max. Available Rooms

The above is one reason in favor of BCV that I always post when the question of which resort and why comes up! I have had to go get food at BWV in the pooring rain, it is NOT fun

We are owners at both, my fav is BCV because of the overhead cover for eating, the BC Marketplace and SAB.

But, the feeling I get while at BWV cannot be described, I get so excited and feel more imersed in the resort. There just seems to be more "Magic" at BWV, if you get what I mean. If they would add a nice walk up IN the building (just like BC marketplace) I think BWV could pass BCV as my personal favorite.

My husband's fav is and always has been the BWV.

BWV has one elevator bank, so some rooms are a LOOOOONNNNNNG way from the elevator. BCV has two sets of elevators, one near the main lobby of the villas and one a bit closer to the parking lot and the pool. So you may have a bit of a walk if you are dead center or the end of the wing, but you will be a lot closer to the elevators at BCV.

Parking is much easier at BCV as the self parking lot is very close to the villas. At BWV, it's a long hike to your car from self parking, so as a DVC member, you'll want to take advantage of valet parking as much as possible. It's free for members, but you still need to tip.

BCV is quieter (it's located behind the BC), while BWV is right in the middle of all the action. If you like the action, stay at BWV. If you like the quiet, stay at BCV.

Another deciding point - are you buying points, do you already own, or are you thinking of renting.

The home resort advantage is important at both these resorts to take advantage of each resorts features. At BWV - that is view, you can get standard views and Boardwalk views at seven months, but it might not happen, and at certain times of year its unlikely. Same with those two queen units over at BCVs.

There are 3 different configurations (booking categories) of 2 bedroom units at the BCV:

1. Dedicated. 2nd bedroom has 2 queen beds in it. This is the most popular configuration and books up very quickly - for some seasons as soon as the 11 month window opens.

2. Dedicated. 2nd bedroom has 1 queen bed and a queen sized sleep sofa.

3. Lock Off. 2nd bedroom can (and often is) rented as a studio. It has 1 queen bed and a double sized sleep sofa. Same as all of the other lock off 2 bedroom units at BWV, VWL, & SSR. OKW lock offs have 2 queens in the studio portion.
