Hi all,

Didn't think we would go to Disney next year as we had a 'blow out' Disney holiday last year and this year we are going to Majorca with friends and tbh, the cost for this, I could have gone to Disney this year!!

Any way, last year we went to the BC, my dream resort, I enjoyed it, we had a lovely room and got a roll away for DD2, loved the location to EP and HS, SAB, well, DD10 loved it but it was hard work with DD2, didn't really relax and take advantage of it really, not many afternoon swims or late night swims which the eldest really wanted to do.

Anyhoo, getting off topic here!!:offtopic: oops

We might be able to go next year instead of waiting till 2016
But I need help in deciding where to stay. Now we've been to the BC its now hard to stay anywhere else. Like I said, I enjoyed it, it was a bit busy what with F&W but other than that, love the location, we love EP. We did a visit to WL for lunch at WC one day and I loved the feel of the resort, the quietness, pool area all in one place! and did a bit of research and DD10 likes the bunk bed option, rooms are smaller than BC tho but they will have their own bed which is what I need and I think we would spend more time at MK next time. The rollaway was no problem for DD2 at BC but it did make it difficult to get in and out of the balcony door! Soooo I also looked at a 1 bed at OKW and the space is amazing, we wont really need all the kitchen facilities being on DDP but the kids would have a sofa bed each by the sounds of it and we do like the boat to DTD as stayed POFQ before. And there's my dilemma!

Price wise, there's not much in it tbh:
24 October 2015 (hoping school still wont fine for taking eldest out for 1 week!!) we love this time of year.
14 nights 2ad 2ch 4 & 12 when we go
14 day tickets and DDP is:
BC £4692 garden view
WL £4460 woods bunk bed
OKW £4274 1 bed apt
and just to throw another in there, CBR is only £3516 preferred room! but I don't think we will get a rollaway in that room??

Any input much appreciated X

I had a similar dilemma as with a 16 and 13 year olds (2015 ages), of opposite genders we need three beds. The kids wanted to go back to the Beach Club (for the pool) but DD is tall, too tall for that bed again, she was 10 when she was last there. My son likes his personal space now too. So in the end I have gone for a one bed villa at OKW. I would have had two rooms at POR but two rooms with free QS dining upgraded to the regular plan was more than OKW which seems mad really. If the pull out beds are awful I'll make DH and DS sleep on them and DD can share the king bed with me ;)

We're planning on booking within the next few weeks and while I would love to stay at either AKL or WL my practical side is saying that spending 2 weeks with DH and DS in a single hotel room would drive me mad! That combined with the fact that OKW has a laundry room has pretty much decided it for us.

Coming home with little to no laundry was appealing to me as well!

The laundry doesn't bother me too much, I'm more scared of the look of the washing machine really!! Are they easy to use? And how do you dry your clothes? We don't tumble our clothes, scared they might shrink!!!

They look pretty easy to use from the pictures I've seen. As for clothes just check the label to see if they're safe to tumble dry or not.

Thanks, I'm sure they will have instructions!! Even if the clothing says you can tumble, I never do as I always seem to shrink them, so my DH says!!

Washing machines at OKW are top loaders. They are very simple to use just select the temperature (hot, warm or cold) and start.

I throw every thing in the tumble dryer on holiday on the lowest setting. You will not have anywhere else to dry them. :goodvibes

I always wash and never come home with any dirty clothes other than those we are wearing and it's great :thumbsup2

Me too...its great knowing that you haven't got heaps to throw in your own machine. I know you still have to do the laundry but its different as at your resort you go swimming while its doing!! I love the top loaders which I had one.:)

Have to say i absolutely loved bc for the pool but mainly location. Also did laundry there mid trip

Another vote for OKW - I'd advise researching the layout of the resort and it's bus routes, then requesting a specific area that has everything you want.
We've stayed at Millers Rd twice now and it's the perfect location for us.
The resort is soo big that the main complaint I read about it is being far away from the action or buses taking ages to arrive at your section.

I would absolutely go for OKW, the girls would get their own bedroom, you can relax in the massive tub. Washer drier in the room.

We have booked to return to OKW again next year. I loved the peace and quiet of the resort and the spacious villas. We opted for a 1 bed as we have 3 kids. I love my kids with all my heart but we would not cope with all 5 of us in 1 room for 2 weeks. ;)

Hi. How old are you children and how did they cope with the pull out beds for comfort? I'm interested as my then 13 and 16 year olds will be sleeping on them next August. Thanks :)

The sofa bed wasn't very comfortable - it was fine for my 8 and 5 year old but I couldn't sleep in it. The sleeper chair was much better and that's where the 12 year old slept. The main bed was huge and sometimes we had one of the kids in with us to prevent bickering and there was plenty of room.

It was lovely to sit out on the balcony too, especially in the evenings.

That's a shame

Apparently it's easy to walk to DTD from SSR.
We caught the boat from OKW to DTD on our very first night. It was a lovely way to get there but the bus is much quicker.;)

Onsite we have stayed at the Swan, Yacht Club and Wilderness Lodge. I would agree that the location of the Yacht and Beach is fantastic. I loved the fact that it was so easy to walk into Epcot of an evening where we dined at a lot of the restaurants. Last summer we went to Wilderness Lodge. I loved it there. We definitely spent more time at the Magic Kingdom and hardly went to Hollywood Studios. The room didn't really feel smaller than our Yacht club room although we didn't have the day bed. I really liked the fact there was a proper quick service at Roaring Forks with tables indoors and outdoors.

We are in a similar position with rooms this time. My children will be 14 and 10 next summer and bed sharing will no longer be an option. We are also considering a 1 bed at OKW.

Does anyone know if you can request a room with a day bed at the Yacht or Beach Club as I don't see it as a bookable option?
