Help me Convince wife to try ToT

bunnyfoo........I don't consider Space to have any real drops. You definately will feel the drops on TOT! That being said.....the drops don't last long. This is not one of my favorite rides, but as stated in my previous post......I do it once per trip. I suggest giving it a try.

The pre-show is something that is not to be missed and the drops don't last forever. I am kind of looking forward to the seat belts because that is one thing that I hated about TOT was the fact that I always lifted off my seat when it dropped.

Good luck in whatever you decide!

Thanks Kim! This probably isn't for me then. I think maybe I'll just go to see the inside and then take the chicken exit

I bailed on this ride twice so the last time I had to ride it. I figured if little, bitty kids and old people rode this and were fine then I could too. I mean, the Mouse wouldn't hurt me.

I don't like "falling" so perhaps this is her issue. While it may not help, you don't actually fall. Your car is pulled down, then pushed back up. Not a huge change in feeling but it is controlled. It's not like you are falling free as in bungee jumping.

I didn't like the "air time" but like even less something to hang on to. Would I go again - yes. The inside the ride theming is amazing and the adrenaline rush keeps you high for at least an hour.

Yeah, I was screaming like a freak the entire time while my roommate was laughing her damn head off. It wasn't horrible and even on the drops there really wasn't that "drop in the stomach" thing that I hate.

If anyone is considering doing the pre-show and bailing out before the elevator - remember this:

While the pre-show is quite good, the best special effects are experienced IN the elevator. I think some people are under the impression that once you enter the elevator, you immediately go up and get dropped. Not so. There are a few other tricks up Imagineering's sleeve before that happens. Just something to consider.:D

I have yet to experience TOT but I have read that you can enjoy the preshow and before it is time to take the elevator you can escape through the chicken exit. Can anyone verify this for me and did they look like a fool asking to exit. My DH and youngest DD will NOT want to do the drop part of the attraction but DH doesn't want to draw any attention to himself either.

Yes, you can enjoy the pre-show & then take the "chicken exit" with no embarassment. People do it a lot. The CMs are very OK with it. The chicken exit leaves you by the screens where you see the pictures that were taken on the ride. You can watch the pics for your rider & the wait is really only a minute or 2 at that point since they were actually riding seconds after you separate.

I was considering offering DH sexual favors if he rides in Sept. I would love to convince him to try it! The "offer" may just do the trick. ;)

I went on first thing in the morning for my first ride. I was hardly awake. It took me four years to get up enough courage to do it. Well the drop sequence was different back then and I didn't like it all that much. All I remember is my ears blocked up we went up so fast.

Two years later I read that they had changed the drops so I gave it another shot. This time I loved it and it became my favorite ride.

When I went in May, I was really nervous about the changes they made. But WOW, the ride is 10 times better than it was before.

She'll have to be ready to give it a go. Early morning and on an empty stomach would be the way I'd go for a first timer.

I've tried every scary ride at WDW at least once. Some I didn't like (Space Mtn, Triceratops Spin) but others have been wonderful. The ToT is the best of the best!

My husband hates roller coasters and there is no way he would ever go on Tower of Terror. Personally, I would much rather ride by myself (I just got back from a solo trip - husband was supposed to go but got sciatica and couldn't go - and I rode RNRC 5 times and TOT 3 times all first thing in the morning over 3 days) than have him go along and be miserable. He doesn't mind waiting for me - but I promised myself I'd give them up in our Nov trip and only do things HE wants to do to make up for his missing this trip...

He talked me into one of the water slides at TL many years ago (I can't swim), and being at the top of that slide and NOT backing off is the bravest thing I've ever done. Hated it the whole way down and will never do it again, and will NOT say "at least I'm glad I did it". UGH.

Rarely does it work out well if you talk someone into it. Just ride it and enjoy it and perhaps someday she'll WANT to ride it.

I'm a big chicken too but wanted to try ToT. We went first thing on an EE morning or I would have chickened out had there been a line. I tried it and I HATED IT. We have the picture to prove that I was clearly terrified and my husband spent the whole time asking if I was okay. I was unable to answer him as I was hyperventiliating. If someone is a chicken and doesn't want to ride - then don't. I'm sticking up for all the chickens out there!LOL

I was petrified of it but decided that I would always regret not trying it so I let my husband convince me to go on it. I survived obviously but I won't lie, I was scared on it. The only thing that held me together was the fact that I had a young boy next to me that was more scared then I was and his mother and I were trying to calm him down so he could get through it as he was trying to stand up. Usually when I can concentrate on someone else's distress, I forget my own!!
