We have a trip planned in July, but I'm really wanting to go for my birthday (Feb. 14). We have DVC so no room costs, APs so no ticket costs, and gift cards for over $300 so no food costs. The kids have their own $ from great report cards :cool1: and plus we were just there at the end of Nov. so there really isn't a need for tons of souvenirs. We will drive down so gas is really the only thing we would need to pay for! If you can't tell I've already planned the trip now I just need the OK!:rotfl2:

He loves Disney as much as I do, so how would you "work" :rotfl:your Disney loving DH to take the family to DW?:confused3

TIA:flower3:

It sounds like a no-brainer and awesome that you can take a trip to WDW for just the cost of gas $$!

I'm not sure what kind of advice you need. Do you think he won't want to go? What objections are you anticipating?

Thanks, to me it is also a no-brainer but the biggest hurtle is going to be the 13+ hour drive for just a couple of days... And maybe the gas costs, but that should only be around $250-300... but still it is $$ we could save or whatever... :rolleyes1

He also may just agree and I'm worrying for nothing.

One time when I wanted to convince my DH (who is also a Disneylover) to go on a spontaneous trip not too long after a previous trip, I got my 4 year old involved. We took scrap paper and made pictures of all of our favorite WDW things - enough to surround the perimeter of our entire living room and dining room! We then made a diarama of our vacation. It was a lot of fun. Then when DH came home from work he just laughed. DS sat him down in the living room and gave a littel presentation. It was so cute! DH had no choice but to say "yes"!

Well I would just tell my husband but I have always been the "cruise director" of our life.

I would say - oh btw we have points to use, the APs and gcs so its a great time to take the kids and go to Disney. I'd like to tie this into my birthday weekend.

What a great idea! :worship: I could even put my 2 yr old DS in his Sully costume right before Daddy gets home! He can't resist the little "monster!"

Traveliz~ I am also usually the "cruise director" and he'll more then likely give in after some convincing! LOL Most DHs do, right? :rotfl2:

If you consider flying (as it's a short trip) Airtran has some days out of DC (Reagan National) for $49 (I did see that on a return, don't know about going down). So, if you could snag the airfare at about $100 per person, maybe flying would save the hassle of a drive? I know it's more ($600 for all 6 of you) but it gives you two days. For a short trip, that may be an option?

Otherwise, good luck, I hope you have a great birthday!

This is the lamest thing I've ever done: Have you seen the movie Up? If you haven't, basically one of the main characters and his wife save their whole lives to go on vacation and then they can't go because the wife passes away. Whenever my husband doesn't want to go somewhere I say "Hey, look at Karl and Ellie. They never went to Paradise Falls."

My husband is a smart man, but for some reason, that always seems to work.;)
