Hi everyone. So I need help convincing DF to have Mickey and Minnie at the wedding. DF doesn't want them there because he doesn't want it to be a "lil kid wedding." He wants our wedding to be dignified. I don't see how just having them at the cake cutting would be undignified. He has been stubborn about this from the very beginning. I had given up on it but the closer it gets to the wedding I really want them there ::throwing tantrum:: LoL. Any ideas or best of all pics that show how great and not lil kiddish it would be. LoL. Thnx!

You can have an elegant wedding and have Mickey and Minnie there. I think when people are traveling all that way, it's nice to add some touches that can only be done at Disney. We only had three children at our wedding, so we were not sure how people would handle it. DH was also thinking it would be too kidd-ish.

But at Disney you're a kid again, and really it was the adults going more crazy than the kids over Mickey and Minnie. Even those that were most cynical about a Disney wedding thought it was pretty cool. There are tons of pics in my PJ along with my write up of it, and our review of them on my "glad I did's".

I have also noticed in many PJ's that the mice are usually high on the "glad I did" list. ;)

Your want for Mickey and Minnie at your Reception spurred a conversation in my own home.

"Is there anything you want in our wedding/reception/honeymoon that you would regret not having?"

It's both your day, so it calls for a lot of compromise, but you never want to have that what if, or regret. Does he honestly think that he would regret having them there, more than you would regret NOT having them there?

Is there something he gave up for you that you might be willing to give him in exchange?

Don't let it cause a rift between the two of you, but i suggest talking to him about the possibility yet again. pezaddict231 makes a good point about the grown ups enjoying it more. Isn't that why we all go to Disney? to escape the burdens of being a grown up to have a whimsical experience? to be a kid again?

Also! Mickey and Minnie can come in a variety of outfits! He may agree if they are dressed more appropriately?? You'll obviously have to ask your wedding planner more about the outfits but here's a link i found!
