Well I've had it planned that we would go to SW for 2 days. The first day we would do the VIP tour, then the 2nd day hit our favorites or whatever we missed. We (me, DD 8, DS 7)will be there in September. We don't do the big rollercoaster rides soo I started thinking and pricing something else out.

How about going to DC for swim with the dolphin package the first day then hit up SW the 2nd day? If anything we have 14 days to go to SW so if we have another day off from Disney and decide to go back over there, we can. It's going to cost us 180.00 more for this but I think it would be SO worth it.

So my question is...should we stick with the orginial plan or go with swim with the dolphins?? My kids are learning to swim so they will do ok in the water..now I'm Pooh size and can't swim...Any suggestions?

Also, since it's only the 3 of us..I would love to have pictures of the whole experience so do they have people taking photos of you? If so how much would that run me??

Thanks for any input you can give me!!

I would go with Plan B going to Discovery Cove. Your family will love it. September is a slow month so you shouldnt have a problem doing it all in one day at Seaworld. And like you said, if need be you could come back later. But the Dolphin swim at Discovery Cove is truly and unforgettable experience.

And yes, they do take pictures of you doing the dolphin swim. Im not sure of the price though. But I would suggest bringing your personal camera for any other pictures of your day at the Discovery Cove.

Go to DC; the kids will love it. They also take pictures you can purchase i think.

Can someone tell me about the lazy river? Like do you ride in an innertube? How deep is the water? Thanks!!

No intertubes. But you can get wet suits/vests which will help you float, as well as lifejackets, and some noodle floaties as well. And your snorkel and mask too. Most people float on their stomachs, snorkeling through the lazy river.

I'd suggest Discovery Cove too. It's well worth the money. Espically since the VIP tours are designed to get you on all the rides, and see 2 shows, with a few animal interactions here and there. Maybe look into doing one of their backstage tours with dolphins or penguins instead of the vip tour?

I'd concur, skip the VIP tour and do DC instead. If you're not riding the coasters then your VIP tour is only going to get you the preferred seating at the shows, plus a chunk of the tour price includes lunch at Sharks Grill and kids don't usually eat their worth there. Also September is the cheapest time for DC so the price difference between the VIP tour and DC is at its lowest. If you can use the AMXDM10 and book with American Express (although I've heard the code works with other cards as well - can't hurt to try) you save another $50 and the price is only $149 per person.

What I would do though, is consider going to SW first, and including the Dolphins Up Close tour. This way you build up the excitement for the Dolphin experience at DC.

One further recommendation (for effect) is to see Blue Horizons then have your tour scheduled for right after that show. You get to go behind the scenes of that show so it would be fun to have just seen it. I'm sure they can help you plan that when you book the tour. The tour begins right there so I'm sure it's a common request. (One I wish we would have thought of before doing.)
