Hi all we are going 16th Dec booked for the sequoia but now i am thinking of changing it to HNY, are there any major differents but the decor as they are both very close to the village, i have stayed at the sequoia before and love that hotel but was not sure about trying a different one this time, by the way already done the santa fe and cheyenne and DH does not like the look of Newport i would love the DLH but it is double the price.. please i ask you all for your opinion and any pics if you have them......
THANKS ALL

I have stayed in both. I like them but the HNY has the edge for me, the decor will be different in the HNY but the rooms are bigger. I find the hotel to be a bit more adult orientated. I like the pool here too although I have never used the pool in the SL.

I've stayed at both, and have chosen Sequoia Lodge for my return.

This is because for the same price as a standard room in HNY you can get a lake view montana room in SL and guarantee yourself a great view, and some views into the parks (last time I could see the castle and space mountain, whereas a lake view room in HNY offers you a view of only NPB and some of the village.

Also, the pool is better at SL in my opinion. And the extra walking is only a minute or two.

Hope it helps. I ummed-and-ahhed for ages over hotels, but DLH would have been over £1000 extra and of the 3 lakeside hotels I think SL is the best.

We've stayed at Sequoia the past couple of times but have opted for HNY this time round. Purely for stupid reasons really - fancied a change; it's closer to the village (I know, I know, Sequoia's only less than 5 mins away from HNY lol) but with 2 young kids, 5 mins is a big difference at the end of a long day (we do 10-12 hr days!).... and the other reason is that there's a selection of hot cooked brekkie at breakfast time.

I was umming and ahhing whether or not to pay extra for a lake view but decided to just take the risk and see what we get on the day. By the time we get back to the hotel, we'd be dead knackered anyway and I usually head to bed soon after the kids do.

Not too fussed about the pool as I know we won't have time to use it.

Don't think I've helped, have I? lol.

this might sound like a stupid question but what is the cooked brekkie stuff is it like what you get at Cafe Mickey & Garden Plaza??

Saw this posted on the HNY thread recently

Yes the cooked breakfast items are out on the buffet along with the cereals, cold meats and cheeses, fruit and pasteries. When we were there a few weeks ago there was bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages and potato.:thumbsup2

I love both of these hotels, though choosing between the two is tricky for me as I prefer the rooms at the NHY and the main areas at Sequoia Lodge!

As you know what SL is like, here are some great pics of the HNY. :)

Both hotels are fantasic, but i would go for HNY, just due to the more elegnace of it, and being that tiny bit further to the entrance.lol.
I'm sure what ever hotel u choose, you'll have a great time!:thumbsup2

Aww how comes DH does not like NPB? its a shame because it is a lovely hotel.

he thinks the walk is further but i like the look of it so might have to go on my own one year he he....

THanks for posting that link! Nice to see a 'real' picture of what the room is like instead of just seeing it in a brochure. Nice big rooms! And one sink each for the kids - hurrah, no squabbling as to who gets to use the sink first for brushing teeth :rotfl:
