Help Me Choose!!!

We are having the hardest time picking out what crib set we want to get for our little one on the way.

I could sure use some opinions.

We have this right now but I have decided to just sell it and get a different set b/c when i bought it a couple months ago I loved it but now think it does not fit our style as much..

So now that I have decided to get rid of it I am trying to choose which one I want to get.

Ok, I want something that will look good with other things we have like the set on our bed and the one on Ethan's bed and such. I want to be able to do the room in classic toys and such. Kind of a country, traditional, americana, old toy type theme if that does not confuse you..lol I want to be able to put the tin signs on the walls like in Ethan's room and I want to also be able to put monkeys in there too since I have always loved monkey stuff and Ethan has some that I would want to add to the nursery as well.

So here is what our bed set and Ethan's bed set look like..

and now here are the 2 sets i am trying to choose between...

If I bought that set it would come with 12pcs. The main 4 pc set for the crib plus dipaer stacker, 2 window valances, pillow, wall hangings and toy organizer but would cost about $140...



Or I could go with this one which would only be a 4pc set and would cost around $80...

So honest opinions? Which looks best?
The first pic shows the crib we have, very traditional cherry sleigh crib if that makes a difference.

I have to go with the majority and say the fireman set. I like the colors better. The second one seems little dark and not so much for a child.

I like them both, but the fireman one better. The second one seems dark, that was my first impression.

You have the MOnkey See Monkey Do bedding and you want to get rid of it?! I LOVE IT- I have had it bookmarked forever for when we get pregnant!! How much do you want? (so not joking!!)

And I like the fireman bedding (for you. For me- I love the monkeys!!)

I do not like the darker set at all...I like the fireman set a lot--the theming is cute and I like the colors. It would look cute with your crib.

And you found a buyer for your Monkey bedding--Becky loves it!

I love the monkey set!!!! So cute, I've never seen anything like it-almost makes me want to have another baby Since you're not keeping that one-I'll go against everone else and say I like the second one better than the fireman one.They are both very cute though!!

Thanks so much for all the opinions guys! I have wanted the fireman set for a while now but could not bring myself to spend so much on it so I got the monkey one thinking ok I will spend a little less and I adore monkeys so I will love it..and i do but it just does not fit the style of the crib or the other things in the house I think. So hard to choose. So I was leaning towards getting the Firetruck one now but happened to see that darker one today and loved the plaid and gingham look of it but wondered also if it would be too dark.

LOL Becky, I put in on Craigslist a couple hours ago for $65. No takers as of yet. I paid $80 for it a couple months ago so I am sure hoping I can at least get $65 since it is still brand new and not used yet. If you seriously want it just let me know and I will gladly send it your way so i can go ahead and order the new set..whichever that may be..lol


Keep the opinions comming guys. I love hearing them. Helps my decision making a little easier.

Oooo, the fireman and dalmation set!

I know it's more $$, but just think of how much you'll love it

I guess I'm in the minority here, I like #2 better. The dalmation one is cute also but I don't really like the shade/hue of the light blue next to that shade of plaid. If the blue part was a different color it would be perfect IMO! I also think it goes with your other patterns better. Good luck choosing!

I like the Monkey's followed by the second set. I don't like the Dalmatians set at all. Then again, my home is not "decorated" and I wouldn't buy any of them! My DD slept with me for months and by then she was too old for the inside thingy for the crib. It would be a miracle if I used a window valance, LOL! The foofy fussy decorating that people do for babies is totally beyond me.

I saw a beautiful Disney set at Baby Depot that would be a great match to your other bedding. It had all the plaids and a little denim. If we had a boy that was the set I was planning to get.

Of the two shown, I like the firemen set. It is soooo cute.

We sold the monkey set and ended up getting the darker set, eddie bauer one. From some other pics I had found it seems that it is much brighter than it looks in those pics and I think it will last longer and go with more of the old toy theme I like to go for. So, i am looking foward to getting that one in now and seeing how it looks on the crib!

Now, I just have to decide if i should paint the walls or leave them the cream color they are. I am thinking we will end up leaving them just to save some money since we don't want to spend too much on a nursery but i am trying to keep from going with too much of a baby theme anyways so it will last quite a while and match well with Ethan's room too.

Thanks again for all the opinions although it seemed most liked the fire set better.. i think this set will look better once i get it here. Hoping anyways!

I guess I'm a little biased here (my dad is a firefighter and I am considering joining the department), but I like the first one. I think the second one is very pretty and I love it, but its not really good for a baby IMHO. I guess its not really fun and bright.
