Help me choose offsite hotel

We love Tropicana, but with the Construction from the Carrousel Inn (assuming there will be construction going on in June) I would avoid it because of potential noise. I would also avoid any hotels that you may have to walk past the construction, so Camelot (would have the noise from the Carrousel and have to walk by the construction so definitely no), Fairfield (unless you cross at Manchester and backtrack) and Hojo (unless you cross at Manchester). Park Vue is a great option we really like it. If it were me I would pick Desert Inn since it gets you close to the park and still not too far from the new Pizza Press location at Anaheim Plaza.
Someone can correct me, but I don't think the plans have even had a final approval from the city so I'd guess June construction is unlikely

I am trying to decide between hojo and Tropicana. HOJO rooms and pool look good, good enough tempt me to get extra night there. Tropicana location seem soooo awesome!

I stayed 30 nights at the Tropicana last year over 5 trips. I'm heartbroken it's sold out for my next trip. It's the best. Quiet, clean, and safe and reasonably priced. Plus, location, location, location.

Agree. There is a possibility of some work at Carrousel, since it's Disney owned, but I would expect Disney to wait until approval from the city before they begin investing too much capital.

My current options are listed below with cost for 3 nights end of June. I have added the parking manually and 10 euro per person per night for breakfast as few of the hotels include breakfast. There will be 3 of us.

Tropicana inn 632
Desert Inn Suites 653
Howard Johnson Anaheim Hotel 653
Anaheim Camelot Inn 672
Park Vue inn 728
Fairfield inn 750

I would like sunny pool, comfortable beds, easy walk to the parks, good offsite dinning options nearby

What would you choose and why?

Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn - not available for my dates
Best Western Plus Park Place Inn - not available for my dates

Call Best Western Park Place direct, their website always says unavailable but when you call there is availability

Hi HappyGrape! Not sure if you applied the DisBoards discount to your calculations, but if you use mention DisBords when you make a reservation you get 15% off our regular room rate! Or you can use the code LNDB online. If you have an Annual Pass to Disneyland you get a 20% discount off the regular room rates instead!

Happy planning!

Oh shucks!! I just made a reservation yesterday. Kriss, is it possible to still call and get this discount applied?

Does anyone here have any thoughts on the Marriott Courtyard that says it is a 5 minute walk from the entrance? Might be taking the family to Disneyland this summer and have never been so any info would be great. Thanks.

Hi Becky_AK, not sure if you called us yet, but we can definitely check to see if we can change your rate! If you made the reservation directly through our website, and its not prepaid, we can most likely change it! If you haven't called us yet, please do and ask for In-house reservations, or DM me and I can look at your reservation for you. :-)

We love Hojos. Just love! As a splurge, we are going to spend a few nights onsite at DLH for my birthday this summer, but we're still also spending a couple of nights at Hojos because it wouldn't feel like a summer trip to us if the kids didn't spend time in Hojos water play area and we didn't sun by the pool.

Recently stayed at the SpringHill Suites Anaheim Maingate and it was excellent. We had a room with a view of the fireworks. It's on the corner of Harbor and Katella, a short walk to the park. Breakfast was included. We stayed in a King Bed suite that had a pull out sofa in the main room. It was quite comfortable and the breakfast was very popular and pretty decent. Waffle makers, scrambled eggs, bacon, cold cereal, oatmeal, milk, juices, fresh fruit, coffee and a decent amount of seating. Parking is $20 a day but you might have to park in the structure across the way. It isn't a cheap place to stay but it was cheaper than Disney property. I used points for all three nights, so it was great for us.

The hotel is actually located over the CVS Pharmacy and is pretty new.

I've stayed at both tropicana and park vue. While I like tropicana I prefer park vue because they have free parking. Tropicana has this weird valet hybrid, where if they're busy you have to use valet and tip each time, do not only are you paying to park you might tip when you leave and retrieve the car. The valet was awesome when I had two kids and lots of bags and was by myself, they even put bags in my car for me, but normally if my husband is there we prefer to just be able to go to the car. The park vue also had free lemonade and cookies when I checked in and free breakfast. They're also 50-100 feet closer which may Madge a difference if you're exhausted. Park vue also gave makeup wipes with toiletries which I thought was a little nicer than tropicana. I'd stay at either but would book park vue first, also they give a 10% discount at the cold stone. The beds and friendliness of staff are about the same

I've heard great things and it's where we originally planned on staying for our trip next month but I got a great discount at DLH so we switched but the rooms look nice and the water park was a huge selling point for us!

@Hojoanaheim, booked 4 nights Monday to Friday end of June in superior room! Really looking forward staying there

If we arrive in Anaheim earlier on check in day, would it be possible to park the car at the hotel and go to the theme parks until our room is ready for check in?

Whoohoo! Less than 80 days to go

SO great to hear that you will be staying with us!

YES! You can definitely park your car here before check in time! Just come to the Front Desk to get a parking permit. You can do a pre-check in too, that way you can stay at Disneyland till closing and not have to worry about coming back at 4 to check in. You can also your our pools while your waiting for your room to be ready.

Hi! We stayed at the new Courtyard by Marriott in Oct 2015, shortly after they opened. It's very nice, very convenient (right next to HoJo's), and if you get a park view room, you can see the fireworks and the Matterhorn from your balcony!
We didn't use the pool, and since they change for parking we took a shuttle rather than rent a car. But the room was very large (we had one of the King family suites) and the bathroom setup seemed like it would be great for families. (There are just 2 of us).

I've stayed at HoJo's numerous times, DLH, and PP (once each).

Good luck!

I second this! We just stayed at BWPPI during a busy time a couple weeks ago and were able to score a room last minute! They recently renovated their lobby, guest rooms, and breakfast area so it was overall a pleasant stay.

Thanks guys. As we are staying for 4 nights, I feel the swimming pool of HOJO will be enjoyed and I am happy with the choice for this trip!
