I'm ready to upgrade from my 2 year-old 8GB Nano. Now the issue is I can't decide whether to buy a Touch or the Classic. I'm leaning towards the Classic I-pod, but I can barely find any reviews on it.

What's the big hype around the Touch? I mean is it worth having a quarter of the memory just to have Wi-Fi? I have a Blackberry, so I probably wouldn't be using it that much for the internet.

I hate not being able to make-up my mind on this. And I know my fellow dissers will steer me in the right direction. :listen:

Yes, I think it's absolutely worth it to get the Touch. Not only can you browse the Internet but you can download lots of apps that can keep you entertained. If you are Wi-Fi, you can check your bank statement, catch up on the news, make a grocery list, etc. etc. Oh! And you can keep your calendar and your contacts on it.

Not to mention the amazing video quality on the Touch (and the larger screen). I don't watch much on it (but the occasional YouTube video is nice) but I have been known to sneak in a little Finding Nemo while waiting at the dentist's office. :thumbsup2

The storage capacity isn't a huge deal to me because you can so easily sync the device. I have tons of songs and movies on mine and if I want to add more, I just do some swapping around.

I vote I Touch. Just got DD one and it is very cool. Lots of neat apps

Another vote for the Touch. Got one for Christmas & it is freaking amazing!!! There's an app for that!!!

DH gave me a 32GB Touch LAST year for Christmas. I bet there haven't been more than a handful of days that I haven't worn down the battery in a day since I got it. I love it! I have 11 movies (full length), about 800 songs, about 20 apps, some photos, and still about 20GB of memory left. It really is the one gadget that lives up to all the hype.

Definitely get the Touch. I upgraded my classic to the Touch for Christmas. I'm not a big gadget person, but I love my touch. It's so much faster and easier to use than the classic and the apps are awesome. Rather than scrolling through everything with the wheel, you can just touch the screen to make your selections. I'm addicted to the Skee Ball game-and I never thought I'd use any of the apps.

ElizK, I'm so jealous of your 32G touch! Mine is an 8G. My hubby gave it to me last Christmas with all the Harry Potter books on it. That takes up most of the memory!

I love my iPod touch. It's fun to play games on, though I don't have many. Unfortunately, my computer is too old to update my iPod on and my DH is a bit territorial about his computer. :) I only have a Tracfone so it's handy to check email and such on when I am out and about. Friendly's has free wi-fi! :)

my Classic died earlier this month. i got the Touch to replace it and i don't regret it a bit. i went from 32 gb of memory to 8 gb, but it hasn't been fine. i just alternate what music i have loaded and that has helped.

I gave DBF a touch for Christmas, it's an 8 gig, he's downloaded a ton of apps and he's got 2 full length movies on his, he's got Star Trek & Terminator Salvation, he's also got some music, not a lot but some, he hasn't put his actual play list on it yet but I imagine that's coming tonight. :) He loves it, I definitely feel the Touch was the best value for what we were looking for, we have Wi Fi at home and he loves to sit on the couch and surf the 'net while we are watching tv. :)

I have a 120g Classic and I love it. I only needed an ipod for music and so far I have about 10,000 songs on it. Love it! My 2 DDs each have a 16g Nano with Video Camera and they really like theirs. I don't get all the hype about the Touch, but to each his own.

I just got the touch for xmas and I haven't put it down since! I LOVE It. The apps are fun, I love the calendar, I love that I can put my ticker factory countdowns on it. The pandora app is awsome. So I vote the itouch!!!

Cathy gave me a 32gb touch for Christmas. It's really awesome. It blows me away how many great apps there are for it, many of them completely free. Somebody said that it can play music, also, but I wouldn't know about that.

Scarily enough I chose a car in a matter of 2 hours, but choosing an i-pod has taken me months. I'm the same way every time I'm ready to change cell phones.

Now that I'm hearing everyone rave about the Touch I'm really leaning towards it. My whole library at the moment is a little less than 30 gigs. So I can get everything onto a 32 touch. It's just a matter of me actually going and buying it, plus the case.

It's just that the ability to load so much onto the Classic just keeps me thinking I could get so many more years out of it.

OP, can't help with you decision. I'm shopping too, and cant make up my mind.

Has anyone bought a refurbished touch for the apple online store. We have always bought refurb ipods without any issues, but wondering if there is anything different w/ the touch that might make a refurb not a bargain?

Are there any better deals out there?

My DH got a refurb touch and it was just fine. I think we've bought 4 refurbished things from the apple online store. No problems with any of them.

I love my ipod touch. I will say that I use if for the other things on it a lot more than the music. I have so many apps that in order to get any more, I need to delete some.

I just bought a touch and have played with it every day!!! I love being able to get onlione, play games and listen to music all with one iPod. I don't know what I did without one.

Love my IPOD touch. I received it for my birthday in August and have not gone a day without it. I have the 16gb I have 4 movies downloaded. 2 Disney, Mary Poppins and The Rescuers. 2 non Disney movies, Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Singin in The Rain. I have 2600 photos on it and 1250 songs. It is amazing. I listen to the Dis podcast, just great.
My vote is the touch you will not be disappointed. Good luck on your decision.:)

I just replaced my 80gb classic with the 160 gb as I have a lot of audio books to put on it. The only problem I have had is my royal solitare didn't load on to it.
