Help me choose a 2 bedroom villa

We are Canadian, so my kids will think it is hot. Both years in Disneyland it was cooler, but my kids still lived in the pools while we were there. It was actually really nice because the pools were relatively empty, we joked there were more lifeguards than kids in the pool.
Through the years I’ve been at WDW in the winter when the temps dropped to 32F three times, that said & assuming you don’t hit a cold snap, BLT has the least exciting pool of your choices, IMO. Most would say BC’s SAB is the best pool on property - just be aware it’s a small DVC resort so it’s more challenging to rent points there at 11 months.
The drop dead gorgeous resorts at Christmas w/ the huge lobby trees are VGF (my personal favorite,) WL (CCV&BRV,) & AKV Jambo. The BC’s holiday life size chocolate carousel is very impressive as well. All WDW resorts have Christmas decorations, some are just more over the top than others. And of course part of the fun at the holidays is visiting resorts for a meal or just to look at their holiday displays.

This will be a big deal especially at such a busy time. If you have any of the harder to get reservations on your list or want to ride any of the new rides staying at one resort the whole time will be a big benifit. No one knows what the fast pass situation will be in 2020, but even just for the dining advantage it’s worth it.

The other problem with a split stay is that you are essentially homeless for the day. I did it in December and my new room wasn’t ready until 5pm. That was difficult because I was sick so I really wanted to go back to the room to rest. Pool time would also be difficult to do that day. I was touring parks open to close so if I wouldn’t have gotten sick I would’ve been ok.
We absolutely love split stays but this is a really valid point. If you’re spending the day of the transfer at a park you have to be packed up completely before leaving which makes for an early morning. If you’re transferring on a rest day you’re homeless for a bit that day. It definitely can throw a wrench in things.

I’ll just add that one advantage to both BLT and AKV is that the 2-bedroom villas have 3 full bathrooms. BCV/BWV have only two baths.
Tiny clarification - only Kidani Village AKV has the extra bathroom. Jambo House doesn't have it.

If you don't mind the sleeper sofas, I would recommend doing a split stay between BLT and BWV or BCV. As others have mentioned, you will want to try to avoid having to use Bus transportation during that time as much as possible, as it gets a little crazy! :)

I love WDW at Christmas time and I think this sounds like a fantastic trip!!!

We usually plan our transfer day to be a "late start" park day. That way we don't have to rush to get up and going in the morning. Also, since we don't know what time our room will be ready, we then can plan to be at the parks until the evening. By the time we are done at the park for the evening, the room is usually ready.
