First off, I'm a DVC member so I hardly ever pay for a room at WDW anymore...The last time I did, was at the Poly and I had a military discount and paid like $240 per night.

DH and I are going by ourselves for 3 nights in October, to see our favorite band play during the F&W festival. Since we didn't book until the band schedule came out, we really missed the boat. No studios available...only 1 bedrooms at SSR (and I'm not bashing SSR- just don't want to spend that many points for just the two of us).

I ended up booking SOG and got a great deal. (Dh is retired military with full benefits).

Now, I'm considering a little splurge and booking the Poly. But current rates are $600 per night! :confused3
No WAY am I paying that.

So, is there any way I can chop those prices down to a reasonable amount? Like I said, we do have military ID. We also will be at OKW in July pre cruise (on the Fantasy! :beach: ) so if they're doing bounce backs, I can look into that.

Any other options I've forgotten?

Do you have APs? You could also hope for an AP discount.

Or there will probably be a room-only discount for the general public during Oct. There's just no telling how steep it will be or if it will be offered at the Poly.

Lastly, you could purchase Disney GCs at Target, using a Target REDCard for a 5% discount. If you are a member of their pharmacy program, you could get an additional 5% discount on the GCs after buying 5 prescription. With the stacked discounts, $100 worth of Disney GCs will cost you only $90.25. Use those GCs to pay for your room and you'll automatically save 9.75% off of the cost of your room (or anything else you buy from Disney). Best of all, they can be used on top of any other discount you already have.

We are DVC members as well--have you tried booking using points at the Poly? I imagine you might have but found they are pricey, but that is also one option....

I would wait till the military dscount is extended to Oct, sure the Poly will be included
