Help - mattress

Last year we stayed at Coronado Springs and the mattress was so hard it was
like sleeping on a board. Can you request a softer mattress or are they all the same?

When last year? We were there over Thanksgiving in the Casitas #3 section, the rooms were redone, and the matress was very comfortable. I don't know if it was a pillowtop or a matress pad. Also the sheets didn't seem as rough either.
