I am traveling to WDW from CT in late Aug. with my mother and am looking for reasonable airfare for a non-stop flight. Prices have skyrocketed over the past few months, and I regret not booking earlier. I foolishly thought maybe prices would go down. I have looked into SouthWest, but their itineraries aren't out yet for late August. Has anyone had experiences with SouthWest flights? Are they typically a good deal? And what is with all of those choices for fares - what is the difference (besides price)? I'm looking for suggestions from anyone who has recently found a good deal to Orlando from New England. Please point me in the right direction. Thank you!!

Try JETBLUE....... They are a great airline, with cheap airfare. I know they are adding alot of service out of Boston but most flights stop at JFK they do have some non-stop from Boston. I am not sure how far from boston you are but I saw some prices late aug for 89.00 each way per adult .......Good luck

I hear you. I fly out of Chicago and have never had this hard a time coming up with a flight time and price that was reasonable. I have always avoided SW (kind of a legacy snob) but finally got a time and price I could live with through them (SW). We haven't flown then yet, we are not going until June, but I am really impressed with their refund/exchange policy and their customer service. So much so, that I joined their Awards program (FF). If the actual flight delivers 1/2 the service I have seen so far, I am their newest loyal customer.

Southwest should have the fares out through at least part of October this week or next week, we fly Southwest (we're right by BWI so it is easiest) when we aren't flying to Atlanta, and they tend to come in either cheapest or around the same price as most other airlines. Since it should only be another week (two at the outside at the best guess) before Southwest flights become avaliable for your dates, if you can't find any reasonable prices I would just wait to see what Southwest's prices are.

I need to check out late oct. the 22nd and the return home would be nov the 4th...I have never used sW and was wondering what do you think should I book the one way first to get the best rate and then book a one way return since it is in Nov??? could you help me so i can get teh best rate...?? thanks sooooo much......

It airfare is very costly, I'm looking to leave June 22 and the cost is more than my vacation package itself.

it is nuts!!!!

Allegiant Air has $79 fares to Sanford if you're anywhere near Worcester, MA. We flew them last October and were very pleased.

hoping for BDL, will take PVD if necessary. Wish SW would release!

Pooch

I've had the same problem. I'm booked on AirTran out of Westchester, NY (HPN) for non-stop flights under $200. I doubt we're going to see many flights for less these days. If White Plains is not too far out of your way, give AirTran a try. Good luck.

how was airtran out of westchester???

I'm still looking for the same time you are out of Boston, Providence or Hartford. I can't believe what Delta has done with their prices. They want $1117.00 per person for non-stops to Orlando in August this is nuts. I hope they will go down once Southwest released their schedule.

Just looked at allegiance air great prices but no reuturn on our day we need it...
Air tran as well the times and the lay overs are terrible for us....
I do not know what we are going to do...Hoping for SW to have it all for us...Delta is terrible...

Really, when you think about it...who in their right mind is going to pay over $1,000 a person to fly down to orlando from hartford. Delta has to come to realize that people will make alternative plans..fly from boston, ny, etc. or fly another airline...lets jsut keep our fingers crossed that these prices drop

I am a little nervous that the longer we wait the harder it is going to be to get a flight..what are your thoughts????

Delta has to come to realize
I'm sure that Delta already knows... their pricing is what it is for a very specific reason, having to do with their current dire financial straights.

the harder it is going to be to get a flight
If Delta doesn't cease operations, then I don't think there will be any major availability issues. If Delta goes under, then yes, there will be major problems finding flights in markets Delta used to serve.

I do not thinkdelta cares

What do you base that on? :confused3

Heck, the airline is trying to reorganize. How happy do you think customers will be if suddenly they're told a few weeks before their trip that Delta no longer serves their city? :confused3

ah their prices etc...delta is in a major fin. situtaion right now...they have other things to worry about than oru flights from hartford...
