Oh no. We leave Friday morning and last night I put the baby down around 9:00 after her bath and she woke up again at 10:00 (this is really normal for her.) but after handing to her hubby she starting throwing up. She did 3 times between getting up and 11:00 pm. I thought OH MY GOD we are in the longest night ever. However around midnight I was able to get her to sleep and she slept in her own crib for rather a normal night for her. She woke at 1:00, 4:00, and 7:00 to nurse, and has kept that all down ok. She went right back to sleep after (normal for her.)

So far she seems ok, she never had a fever and is in pretty good spirits.

Please let it just be something she ate (at 9 months she is starting new foods all the time.) She had a slice of apple yesterday she chewed on and I hope it just didn't diguest and came back up. She has never thrown up before (spit up yes, but that is different.)

Some history here, my best friends son had the Rotovirius last week. We saw him a week ago Monday, (8 days ago) and he came down with it on Thrusday. He was very sick for 4 days, and is finally doing better. I don't think it is possible we got it from him (8 days after seeing him, 3 days before he had any symptoms.) but I am praying it isn't the same, we can't be sick for 4 days! :guilty:

So if you are reading this I would love your prayers! God I thought packing was going to be my big problem. I am not even thinking about this thing getting passed around the family! :sad2: I don't even want to leave her alone to take a shower. I think I will bring her in the bathroom in her bouncy chair with me.

I am going to call my Ped's office RN and talk with her. So far this morning she is doing good. Keep your fingers crossed! :goodvibes

We'll cross our fingers for you! Rotovirus is horrible, I hope your little one doesn't have it! :wizard: pixie dust your way in hopes that whatever it was has passed!

Hopefully it will be a 24hr bug--most vomiting illnesses don't go on much longer than that. Nurse a lot today, and try her on some rice cereal and a piece of banana or some applesauce later. Don't be surprised if she gets som diarrhea; that's often Part B of these viruses. As long as she's playing some and keeping down her fluids I would foresee a wonderful vacation in your future.

Rotovirus is going around in Michigan. My DGS just got over it. Hope your baby doesn't have it. It's really nasty!! I'm sending some pixie dust your way. :wizard:

oh no ... I bet you are anxious! Keep us updated! I hope she will be ok, maybe it was something she ate, since she did better during the nite!

We leave Saturday for POFQ, maybe we will run into you :teeth:

she is too precious in your signature photo!

I have two toddlers and needless to write, have experienced lots of puking at night w/ fear of them coming down w/ something and the next day they are fine...I am glad you are calling the pedi's office though to specifically inquire about the virus, better safe than sorry & sick in WDW ....best wishes to your little one :goodvibes

Thank you so much everyone, Minkydog, your post made me feel so much better, that is just what I needed to hear. :goodvibes

cbrfanv, I am praying it isn't the Rotovirus. I read up online about it is passed by contact with fecces. She has had no contact with other babies (other then last week Monday) and isn't in day care or anything else like that so I hope helps. The only places she has been to is the store and I have cleaned off the carts each time.

lynetteSC, lets hope so. The weather should be HOT! I am feeling better now, but still holding my breath. She has been up for over an hour and hasn't vomited yet. I am feeling very good about that. She hasn't had a fever and she is playing with her sister now. (who is feeling clingly, doesn't want to be left out.)

Hi everyone. Feeling much better now. Talked with RN how says yes the Rotovirus is rampint around here, but it could just be a somache bug or something she ate. (in fact is it sounding more like it because she is doing better, if it was rotovirus she would still be vomiting.) She did say there was NO WAY she got it from her friend 8 days ago. I was thinking so, but she could of got it from anywhere. And we have been so careful.

Today has been a pretty normal day so far. She had a wet diaper when she woke up, a poopy one around 10:30 and is sleeping again for morning nap. :flower:

Why does it always seem this throwing up at night happens on bath night? Is that just me? Her sister has been fine and so has everyone else.

Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers. I will keep you posted. So far my hopes are high! :cheer2:

Boy do I feel for you...you have my prayers!

The first time my DS ever threw up it was the rotavirus (at 10 months)...so the couple of times he's thrown up since then my DH and I have been deathly afraid it ws more than just a little bug or something he ate! Thankfully, we haven't had the rota hit us again since last fall (knocking on wood here!) I just want to offer one piece of advice: even if you think (and hope and pray) that it is just a little bug or tummy upset - wash, wash, wash your hands like crazy! Your DD will probably be back in action soon and you don't want you or your DH to have it hit you during your vacation.

Keep us posted and hang in there!

Sounds like she may be on the mend, we'll be praying for you, have a great vacation.

Just a tip if she does get diarrhea there is a fromula for it, Simalac DS I think, it is wonderful, stops it right away. Good luck!

Thanks cwnhokie, that is good info to know. DD doesn't take forlmua, she doesn't even really like a bottle much, but still good info to know. I am really happy I am still nursing since that helps so much. The RN said that was good and the best thing for her right now. The thing is breast milk is a natural laxitive so it is going to get all loose no mater what right now. Oh well, at least I am used to that.

Poor kid. It is just wrong for a baby that size to be throwing up. She had no clue what was happening to her. I mean she can't even walk or talk yet.

More prayers were said for your little one. Sounds like she is going to be ok. Lot's of kids around that age tend to have very sensitive tummys. You are doing great by nursing her through it. Our Ped recomended nursing through the 2nd year if for no other reason than to be able to nurse through the rotavirus. it often means the difference between a hospital stay and being fine at home. Be sure to keep her well hydrated and all should be fine.

That is good to hear, I always thought so, but never heard it from a Dr. I nursed her sister until she was 27 months old, mostly just once a day morning or night, but there was times it sure came in handy.

She has had 2 poopy and 2 wet diapers so far, and not the runny kind. I feel so much better. :goodvibes

lynetteSC, I am getting excited now too. I will dance now, I was too scared to before. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

I hate it when my kids throw up because I feel so helpless. It's the worse thing! I'm glad your baby is feeling better! We're leaving in 2 days too. On our last trip, on of my ds's spent the first 2 days of our trip throwing up. I'm hoping we are all healthy for this trip! :flower:

Hey nicks mom, our count down clocks look identical.

I am starting to feel the magic now. I just found some boxes of the cutiest baby cothes from my older daugther that my husband shoved in a closet in the basement during the remodel. I thought I was going to miss it (she would outgrow them.) They are just right for her this summer and for WDW. Now the question isn't what to bring for the baby, what not to bring. The funny thing is Anna was walking and talking when she was wearing this size! Some of them she was 2 years old!!!! Every baby is different.

The best thing is I found the 2 piece outfit we bought Anna when she was 9 months old and we brought her to WDW for the 1st time, and it should fit! I was really mad at hubby that I didn't know where it was! :Pinkbounc

Ok, I figure just keep nursing her today and we can try some baby food tmw or tonight. As long as she is satisfied with the nursing I figure the longer the better (or at least 24 hours.)

DisneyPhD, that baby picture is so cute! Looks like we'll be at WDW at the same time! Here's hoping for a healthy, fun vacation! :flower:

Thanks. She is feeling and acting fine now, like it never happened. :flower:

Ok, now if I can just get us packed we will be doing good.

how can 4 people bring so much stuff!!!!
