Just wondering if anyone has been lately. How is the crowd, service and food?

Thanks,

We were there last July. It did not seem crowded, even though all seats were filled by reservations. There did not seem to be a bad seat anywhere, and the area in front of the railing was kept open so the view of the park & fireworks was unobstructed. The food & drinks were very good & plentiful, and would be restocked if they ran low. The service was also great. My wife has a gluten allergy and when we told one of the cast members about this they immediately went to the kitchen where a huge plate of gluten free desserts was made up and brought to our table. She said it was all delicious, and there was so much she couldn't finish all of it. They then gave her a box so she could bring the rest back to our resort. This is now a must-do on all of our WDW trips.

We went on May 20th. If you went last year, it is virtually the same, although the layout is a little better this year (better separation between guests and the buffet).

Service is ok; there really isn't much CM interaction at all unless you have a specific issue with the food.

The food is good, there is plenty, and things get cycled out fast enough that nothing melts in the heat. If you want a sods, you will need to bring it with you; there's only juice, tea, coffee, and water provided.

Went May 1 - 8th and probably won't go again. Just didn't think the price justified it. We were supposed to check in at 9:15. The line formed at 8:50 so we waited in it and didn't get in until 9:30. Although our table was already set up I found the tables to be too close to each other. The desserts were fine. IMHO, I thought they were like the desserts at other buffet restaurants. I would have liked a soda option as well. There was a photopass photographer there and we got our best family picture there. The view of the fireworks was great. They were very punctual with refilling the desserts. However, it took them quite a while to clear our plates and glasses.

That will be cool!

Thanks for the info. Looking forward to our reservation.

We did it on 6/3. I believe your table location is determined by how early you book (they are assigned from front to rear of terrace as reservations are made). We booked the day ressies opened for our date and we were seated right up front.

I didn't find it to be overly crowded. Plenty of space between tables and short waits at the buffet line. The only "crowd dynamic" I'd be sensitive to is regarding the Photopass photographer who is there to take family shots with the castle in the background. Get to him/her early right when you arrive or while everyone else is getting their first servings of desserts, the line for photos grows a lot longer once everyone has had something to eat.

As for the desserts, they were nice - not to die for, but enough quality and variety to keep the culinary element of this interesting. The CMs kept re-stocking the desserts well into the event; I think they finally started "knocking down" about 5-10 minutes before the fireworks started (kept the beverage setup open until people were leaving). We got up about 10 minutes before the fireworks and went up to hold "unobstructed vieiwng" spots at the terrace fence. I sensed there was enough room up there so anyone who wanted that view was able to get it.

As for the view itself, it is excellent, best I have ever had of the show in the MK. The fact the castle is at an angle makes for great photos, too!
