I got DH to agree to a quickie Disney trip  and I need some advice please. What would you do questions mostly!

We're headed down to (hopefully) see the next shuttle launch. We'll go 5/13-5/18. The shuttle launches Friday. We want to go to Sea World 'cause my little guy has a mysterious walrus obsession at the moment, lol.

So...

I've only ever booked Disney travel through Disney but I'm seeing a good deal through SW vacations. Has anyone ever used them? Good? Bad? Ugly?

We'll do 2 days at Disney. Would you spring for a Park Hopper?

Would you buy a 10 day No-Expiration day ticket to save $ in the future? (Again, I've only ever done Disney packages - usually if it's a deal, so I don't know if this would be worth it).

I've only ever used Disney transport, but we'll have to have a car this time. Would you rent a car for the length of stay at the airport or just rent a car when necessary (at the TTC, right?)

I've considered staying offsite, but I don't know where to stay and there are just too many hotels in Orlando for me to pick through them all so if anyone has any good recommendations (2 year old friendly) let me know that, too.

I've gotta get this vaca booked by the end of the weekend!

Thanks for the help!

I've never used a travel agency, so I'm no help there, nor with the car rental. You'll just need to do the math on that.

For 2 days at Disney, I would probably not go for the park hopper option. You'll end up wasting too much time traveling from park to park. I'd pick my 2 faves and maximize each day. As far as the 10 day no expiration tickets, that may be a good deal. Just weigh out how much 2 day tickets are verses the cost of the 10. Figure out the per day cost and voila you have your answer. Plus account for the fact that ticket prices will increase every year. We live close enough to get 2 full vacations with AP's, so that's the way we go. That way we only buy tickets every other year.

I am an on property girl, so you already know where I'm going with this....perhaps you could try a value resort, thus retaining the Disney Magic (the Pixie dust stops at the property line) and the use of Disney transport. (That's always one less stress!) Then you could rent a car for your other excursions without needing one the entire time. The best of luck to you! Hope you get it all worked out in time! Have fun!

We used SW Vacations several times for various vacations and have been very pleased with them. Good luck--I hope everything works out!
