I got a call about an hour ago about our reservation. Apparently the airline we booked our flight with (through Disney) is no longer offering service out of our airport in 2008. I found another flight, but it is leaving a day earlier than our previous flight. I called CRO back to see if we could arrive a day earlier. We had a standard view room at WL. Well, there was nothing available in standard view at WL for that night, so I asked about room only. The CM said that the only room only available was a conceirge room for $385. I thought that sounded like too much, so I opted to just go ahead and change our whole reservation (which is now 7 nights instead of 6) to courtyard view, which was available. When she gave me the total, I thought it sounded high, but I went ahead and booked it. After I hung up I realized that the price she quoted me and is now on my reservation online is $700 more than it was for a 6 night standard view room. Does that sound right? Sorry this is kind of long, but I'm a little freaked out right now!:scared1:

Did the 1st reservation have a code or discount attached to it? What are your dates in 2008?
By switching from a standard to a courtyard view room can/may be that much.

The first one did have a code, but she told me the code was applied for the additional night as well.

I just didn't realize there would be that big of a difference btw. standard and courtyard view. Do you think it would be worth my time to check each day to see if a standard becomes available?

I really don't want to pay $700 more for a courtyard view. Should I ...

1. Call back and change back to standard view for the original 6 nights and book the standard club level room for $385 (room only for 1 night)
or
2. Keep the reservation the way it is and keep checking to see if I can get a standard view room the entire 7 night stay?

I'm so confused! Please help!

You could try another Disney resort for the one night and keep your original reservation.

The resort you are leaving will transfer your luggage to WL.

If we do that, how do we get all our stuff to WL the next day since we are relying on Disney transportation?

Bell services will do it for you. Just keep a small bag with essentials with you in case they get delayed with the rest of your stuff.

Did you have the dining plan? Park tickets? did you change the length of your park tickets? If you did, all of that would increase the cost of your package.

$700 would be alot for me. I would do both. Change back to a standard for 6 nights and and book a club level for 1 night. I would also keep checking to see if you can get the standard for the entire stay. You would still have time to cancel the club level room only.

The dining plan would add a bit depending on your party size and ages. The tickets should be a minimal charge if you are going from a 7 day to an 8 day ticket.

It may not matter anyway. If you changed your original reservation, someone else may have already snapped up the standard room (they go quickly) and you may not be able to get it back. But I don't understand why they could offer you a courtyard view room for the entire stay, but only offer you club level if you were booking one night. That doesn't sound right to me. Either the availability is there, or it isn't.

$700 is a lot of money, but in my opinion, if you spend any time at all on your balcony at WL, a courtyard room is MUCH better than a standard view of the roof or loading dock. If you look at it from the standpoint that it's really only around $500 more (because you would probably spend around $200 on the extra room night anyway) it doesn't sound so bad.

If it were me, I would stick with the reservation I have and keep trying to get a woods view instead. That will knock a little off the cost, but keep you from looking at the rooftops as well.

Okay, I called back this morning and got my original standard view package back at the price I had previously been booked at with the ZVY code. I booked a room only for the night of our arrival at POP. I figured since we were going to be spending less than 12 hours there, there was no point in spending more for a moderate or deluxe! I will keep checking, though, to see if a standard at WL becomes available for the room only so we won't have to change resorts, but even if we have to keep it this way, it will be okay.

Thanks for the advice!
