So this is the first time that I will be flying and bringing a stroller along. I have a double jogging stroller. I assume that I can bring it up to the gate, and they will gate check it. But is there a certain size that they only allow up to in order to be able to do that?
What about going through security? That thing won't fit on the belt to be scanned. So what do they do? Do I have to put it with our checked luggage?

I'm so confused!! HELP!!

Oh, and we are flying into Orlando from Boston on Jet Blue, and return to Boston from Orlando on Air Tran.

Thanks!!

I don't know about the x ray machines because we have a single, but get yourself a gate check bag!! They are about $15 or so and are red. They get so marked up and dirty, I can't even imagine if that was my stroller and not the bag.

Items that don't fit through the X-ray machines will be hand inspected by the TSA. I think they just swab it for explosives.
Not sure if there are size restrictions for strollers. Have you checked the airline websites?

I agree with PP, stroller bags are really handy. It might be hard to find something if the stroller is huge though. Also, make sure you remove anything that can potentially fall off or break on the stroller (like cup holders and plastic trays).

which we used on the plane (a Godsend!!) didn't fit through the x-ray machine. They inspected it manually, no big deal. Actually, I was kind of amazed at how few people I've seen using car seats on the plane. DGS jumped right up into his and was happy and confined through the entire flight. We bungee corded it to a folding wheeled cart for the trip through the airport and then installed it in DD's car for the duration of the vacation.

Where can I get a stroller bag? I also want one for a car seat.
