Help! I've got a cold

Hi,
I wondered if anyone can help I remember reading on here about something that will stop a cold in it's tracks. I'm on holiday in less than two days and I'm getting worried it will ruin it.

Use the nosespray ZICAM-Works for me! Use it every couple of hours for a day or so. I use it once or twice if I feel like something might be starting. Saved me from getting a cold everyone else in the family got!

agree- ZICAM also makes "Q-tip"-like nose swabs that work well.

Over the counter, in the cold medicine department. It's about 10 bucks and well worth it.

Zicam worked like a miracle for me.
I didn't even get to the coughing stage.
I even keep a bottle of it at work in case I am at work when I feel my first cold symptoms start.

Zinc (helps maintain a healthy immune system) tablets also work for me, you can get a bottle of 50 for about 3 bucks at Meijers. ~~

ZICAM really works. Wlamart sells it for 8.99 and Brooks sells it for 11.99. I get it at walmart

While Zicam seems to work for most people, it does not work for everyone. My 15 year old dd has had no luck with it at all. In fact, both times she tried it (used it according to directions) her symptoms rapidly got worse instead of better. On th other hand, it worked great for my 12 yo ds and me.
Just be aware that it is not always a "miracle cure"!

I've tried the zinc and it didn't work for me at all. I'm going to have to try this Zicam stuff now.

I have had great luck with Zicam the two times I have tired it. I have also had decent luck with Zinc, but better luck with Zicam.

Zicam is just basically zinc in the form of a gel. I tried it and promptly got a whopping sinus infection. It was of no help at all to me. I have terrible allergies, though, and most colds go into sinus infections for me. So, I may not be a good example.

Hunnypots, I'm glad you said that about it working differently for different people. I thought I was doing something wrong. I had my DD11 use it yesterday, and it did nothing for her. It works for me after a single use.

Zinc works great for me but don't take too much because it can actually supress you immune system if you take more that 40mg a day.
