Flying with virgin from manchester, five adults 1 child, feb 17 05 for 2 weeks staying at parc corniche, total price including transfers £2,899.This is with a company called holiday bookers, and if this is a genuine quote it is £1000 cheaper than it is with airtours. Am I right to be sceptical of this price or do I book it???

Thanx Major:confused:  :bounce:  :Pinkbounc

I'd check their ABTA numbers but different companies do come up with good deals at different times, a lot of it is down to their capacity and take up rates.

I checked on the ABTA website, and holidaybookers are registered with them. Is this enough of a safeguard to go ahead and book the holiday. Is using a credit card a safe method of payment over the telephone as they said a cheque would take to long to process??

I'm no real expert - but aren't most others cheaper than airtours & the like? I know that once you'd added on the extras for food on the plane etc. & the inconvenience of flying to Stamford, Virgin and/or BA were a better bet

Hiya major

Don't know if I'm stating the obvious but have you checked their website? (Couldn't tell if you'd maybe seen the deal advertised in your local paper or on teletext)

holidaymakers.com are (the same as) ebookers.com You could check if your particular holiday is there

http://www.holidaybookers.com/

Hope this helps

Thanks for your replies.
I phoned the company and they said they aren't connected to e-bookers. I also checked with Abta and they are bonded so seems to be a genuine quote.

Hiya Major,

Can you please let me have the phone number of holidaybookers please ?
Also the website address if you know it as the one posted goes to ebookers.

Thanks

Rachel

The telephone number is 08712225785 and the web address is www.holiday-bookers.com.
I have booked with this company but am already wondering if I have done the right thing. After paying £1200 deposit with balance due 12 weeks before departure,I received a letter this morning asking for another £972 to be paid by 26/04/04. I telephoned them and refused to pay this, they then said I could pay £400 instead. Again, i refused and told them that I had telephoned trading standards and they eventually said I didn't need to pay this extra money.
After I booked this holiday I found the same holiday on the virgin website for approx same price, unfortuately I had already committed to holiday bookers!

:jumping1: Linda! :jumping1:

Hi,
They said that-
"The tour operator- Globepost has advised us for reasons beyond our control Virgin Atlantic require full payment for your flights"
As I said I did manage to sort it out and have now got confirmation in writing that I don't need to pay anything else until 12 weeks before departure.
