O.K., so I was inspired by Cheshire Figment and others, and decided to take the plunge and just get used to the fact that this 35 y/o needed a scooter. Anyway, I found a "like new" Pride Revo 1 y/o, the woman it was purchased for passed away before she got to use it. I've checked it out, and it seems to run great. They are asking $800. Is this a good one? Thanks for the input, I'm a newbie at this scooter purchase thing. Have to admit though, after renting one for the w/e, it sure made a huge difference! I was actually able to keep up w/ my kids!
Thanks for your help

I looked and and tried out the Revo in the store on Friday and I really liked it. I am a bit over 200lbs and I found it quite comfy (just to give you an idea of how much bulk I had to get onto it!). It is not as easily "portable" as the smaller ones--especially as far as taking it apart and getting it into the van by myself,. but it would be managable If it had been in my price range I probably would have jumped on it--okay hobbled onto it. I really, really liked it!

Have you been to the Pride mobility site to look at it? They have really good information there and you should be able to figure out if it has the features you want/ need.

ETA: By the way, this was also a like new used one and it was going for around $1250--if th one you are looking at is in good condition and the battery is functioning then $800 is a GREAT price for this scooter!

Hi; the "local" store is abou 1 1/2 hrs. away, but looking at size, features, battery life, etc. I think this might be a good fit. I drove a celebrity and liked it, just thought the turning radius was a little too big, but the Revo is over 5"tighter. I really appreciate your feedback, $800 is a lot of money for us to put out there, but I need speed and maneuverability while maintaining durability for a gal "of size". (2something) It's really good to know that this price is good for what it is. I've been looking at reviews, and most are positive, but I place a lot of trust in fellow Dis'ers. I need to know if this puppy can get me through a whole day in the parks, and it seems this one can.

BTW, we'll be there in Sept. Maybe we can meet up at some point. I'd love a pic for the scrapbook:cool1:

Thanks again! If anyone else has any input: good or bad, please let me know!

Nicole,

Congrats on taking the plunge. With everything you told us it sounds like you got a great deal. I really love having my own scooter and hope you have as much fun getting back into the real world as I have.

Thanks RNMOM, I'm trying to get used to it; it's funny, I'm much more accepting of my children's abilities and challenges than my own. But getting out there will be a step in the right direction.
