morning all!
i need some advice on a disney matter, and i was pointed in your direction by the good folks at moneysavingexpert - i hope you can help!
next september/october, my grandmother is going to florida. she has been going to disney every other year for about 20-30 years, and absolutely loves it. it really brings out the child in her, which is wonderful to see.
gran is now in her 70s, and has the early stages of a degenerative disease. she is growing increasingly dependant on her wheelchair, as walking more than a few paces exhausts her. this has never been a major problem at disney, as they are always very accommodating.
because of her health and the criminal amount it has cost to insure her for the trip, it seems that this will be her very last time at disney, and so i want to do something to make it really special for her.
unfortunately, due to uni commitments, i wont be able to travel with her. she will be going with my aunt, who is her carer. as i have no idea what to get either of them for christmas, i thought it would be nice to arrange something for them, which they can then look forward to as an extra part of their holiday. so this will be their christmas present hopefully!
right, so what is it that im looking for..?
i have around £100 to spend, but as the pound is so strong against the dollar, i'd be happy to pay in dollars ($200 max) to get the most value for money.
as they are travelling with virgin, the holiday itself is taken care of - limo from the airport to the disney hotel, tickets to all the parks, character dining, tickets to dinner shows in the florida area. as the list probably shows, they are disney veterans, so finding something special to surprise them with is prooving to be hard work. they've done the swimming with dolphins thing too, so i really am stumped for ideas!
any ideas from you 'professionals' would be really greatfully received, as i would desperately love to make this special for them.
thanks,
britpop
