Hello all, been reading the forums with interest over the last few weeks. Off to DLP on Sat - yippee:cool1:

Does anyone know where I can download a floor plan or layout of the Disneyland Hotel? I would like to have a specific room or area in mind ready for check in. We are staying in a standard room and would like to be able to put the kids to bed of an evening and then sit somewhere outside the room and listen to the cherubs on the baby monitor; so we need a room that is close to somewhere with a table and two chairs - any suggestions?

We did this when we stayed at the Sequioa Lodge last time and it worked great; gives the grown ups an hour or so pease and quiet on our own before bed.

I suppose it might be nice to be near the pool as well, I understand that only CC rooms are in the main building so no chance of staying in there.

Getting really excited about staying in the pink palace and seeing the tale end of the christmas season. Hope it gets quieter Monday onwards.

Ooh by the way, do we need to tip the valet parking people? if so how much do you give them?

Regards to all.:dance3:

We were in a standard room last time in October and they were all either in the east wing or west wing with a long walk to the bar. Maybe someone else will be able to help you, but I don't think it will work as well in the DH.

Thank you for the reply. Which wing were you in?

I notice that you have (upgraded) against your 2006 stay; did you ask for an upgrade at reception?

I think we were the East wing. It was the side which was above reception and not the pool.

Originally we booked New York Hotel 6 months before we were going, but 3 months before we were due to go DLP informed us we couldn't stay in the NY and were moving us to the DH. We wouldn't have stayed there otherwise as we were trying to give our son the same holiday as our dd had for her 4th birthday.

You should ask for a room in the Westwing (ground floor). This is the wing with the pool but fare away from the reception. But therefore you have got an extra entrance to the hotel!

This special entrance is here on the left side!

This is the special entrance from inside the hotel.

And if get a ground floor room you will have outside in most of the rooms a table and one or two chairs. Like in picture number one!

This picture was taken inside the westwing,. Here you can see that almost every room in the groundfloor has a table and two chairs.

Don’t forget to write us a trip report and give us many many pictures after your return. :cloud9:

Thank you for the photos marcus, great tip about the west wing. I think it might be a bit too cold to sit outside in the evenings though, hope that I can find somewhere to sit indoors.

This is the one part I'm not looking forward to; if the baby isnt in bed by 8 he will be in a filthy mood but I dont want to sit in the room in silence and darkness until my bedtime!

I am sure we will find a solution. One of those big outdoor heaters perhaps...

4 days to go:cool1:

Hi disneypointer and welcome to DLP DIS board :wave2:
We are a friendly bunch here so please join in on any other thread or if you have a number of questions then just start a new thread for each :goodvibes

If you have not had a look yet, posting guidelines can be found here and details regarding help on signatures here

There are also many places inside the hotel to sit down.

This picture is also from the westwing!

I love to sit down in hotels in the evening and watch the people passing by! :)

Thank you Cyrano for your warm welcome.

Not had a response about the original PS about tipping the valet parkers? Expected or not?

Would really appreciate some more photos and tips from people who have stayed at DLH, although after i leave work tomorrow I wont get the chance to look at the website (how am I going to survive a week without a computer :surfweb: )

4 days to go, 4 days to go, e i ito, 4 days to go :cheer2:

marcus you are a star! That last picture is absolutely what I was thinking of. Now all i need to do is get a room close by.

thanks marcus you`re a star for these, now i`m really excited!!!!!!!
my only problem is
do we try for a ground floor west wing for extra entrance/patio so we can have a crafty *** without taking it in turns to leave the hotel(we don`t smoke around the children at all)but then the kids will be dissapointed if they can`t see anthing out of the window - i know the chances of getting apark view are slim but i would hate for them to miss out because we are on the ground floor!!

More pics, splendid, thank you. It looks really nice.

Spotted the 2 chairs and table in your photo wideeyes - there my problem solved, I will reposition then outside the room for the evening!

Still no answer on the valet parking?

we did not have a car so don't know the answer to the valet parking, sorry.

Look in my web log for more pictures .
We tip the parking people, the ladies of housekeeping(morning and evening) and the bell boy. It works wonders.

I would tip them with 1 or 2€!

And by the way: For all the pictures I gave you here in this thread I want to have a trip report and pictures after your return! :cool1:

Have a nice time in the best hotel in Europe!

Marcus thats blackmail.... OK

sjaakie, can't understand a word of it but enjoyed the pictures, thank you.

We were in the west wing on the ground floor in a similar room to Joe Sam's. Within hearing distance of the room at the junction of three corridors was a lounge area with sofas and a coffee table. Our room number was 3055, I'd say 3055 - 3065, and whatever the even numbers are on the other side of the corridor would be within an acceptable distance.

We faxed in advance to request a room in that area - I can email you the fax if you PM me

Cheers

A

Ooh splendid info, thank you. We will go for one of those rooms then. When I phoned the hotel the other day they said that if i ring back on Fri then they will do the allocation.
