Hey guys. I'm in Sb line for soarin.

Got in line with a twenty min standby.

They announced about 5 minutes after I was in the line that it had changed to 60 minute standby and now it's like 90 minutes.

I'm currently in line almost around the corner after going through the hallway with the big screens. Roughly 20 minutes in.

Am I screwed?

image.jpg 80 degrees in shorts right now. So you are right!!! Can't complain.

Wife is waiting with me and DS so she wound up doing lwtl while she waited. She will get to do child swap! They told me 7 minutes from turning the concourse corner.

I'm hearing joe Swanson do narration?!

Good sign.

So I guess my experience at Test Track that I described in the other thread was not an "abberation".

And yet others insist that the posted wait times are surgically precise. Go figure.

No our last trip in Oct 2013 when they where rolling out fp+/ magic bands and the times post on MDE and the signs outside the rides where very wrong.

Some where less, but most of them where double what was posted. Made me wonder if they change them to direct crowd control to other rides, to even out the flow.

Im still in the camp of if you want to ride soaring then get in line and wait.

The problem is that the FP+ people coming in is what's holding up the line. You could be near next in line to get added to the rows to go into the theater, but if 30 FP+ people walk-up, you're stuck waiting another 15 minutes or so. Because of this, it's hard to gauge how much longer based on where you are standing in line.

I don't know how lucky the OP is. I am not of the opinion that if you're in WDW everything is fabulous. After all, the OP is spending valuable vacation time in a line that was originally 20 minutes and now it's up to 90 minutes. I don't think that's so fabulous, even if it is Disney. When I go on vacation, I want every minute to count and I rely on the posted wait times to be accurate, unless there's a breakdown. Personally, I would rather waste time in long line in my everyday life than waste time in a long line on vacation. Vacation time is precious in my world.

Totally agree with this.

Not to mention that the difference between a 20 min wait and a 90 min wait is significant enough to impact the rest of the day and any others plans made- including other scheduled FP's & ADR's. Op was expecting a 20 min wait because that's what was posted, then once in line it increases to an expected 90 mins. That huge increase in wait time would severely impact the plans for the day.

I totally agree with you but plans to anywhere shouldn't be written in stone, well except for ADR. FP+ with the exceptions of couple of hard to gets can be changed or dropped all together on the fly.

Not arguing, but people saying how lucky the OP is to be at WDW is a bit ridiculous. The OP spent thousands of dollars and is using vacation time. I don't consider it lucky to be stuck in a 90 minute SB line when it was originally posted at 20 minutes. This also supports the premise that you can be flexible with FP+. The OP entered a SB line thinking he would be waiting 20 minutes, so he could in fact lose FP+ reservations because the SB line was so much longer than predicted. So in Epcot, what is available for the OP if he decides to reschedule on the fly? LWTL, Figment, or EO? I don't see these as great options. I don't think it will ruin the OP's vacation, but I still don't think it's an easily salvageable situation.

Twenty turning into ninety sounds more like technical issues than too many FPs coming through... Noon is usually a pretty bad time to do Soarin standby,so I'm surprised it was posted as 20 to begin with!
Hope you get on soon - good luck!

So, OP -- how long did you wind up waiting?
