Hi all! I am looking ahead to December, and would really like to be able to do a trip report while we are staying at the Fort. Mind you- this is only our 2nd trip (our first in our motorhome) plus I've never done a trip report, so I am a novice! To say the least! But I'm willing to give it a try, just because I know how much I love when someone else does one from the Fort. But I need help- mainly in learning how to put a picture on a report, so it's not just words-pictures are so much more fun! :)

Here's what I can tell you : I will have my laptop computer and a digital camera. We will have a phone that I can plug into for better internet, if I don't have good internet connection thru the Fort. I actually have a website for our farm/kennel, and I love working on it and putting pictures on it. But to do that, I just plug my camera into my computer- it transfers the pictures onto my computer, and then my website just lets me go to my pictures and download whichever one I want onto my website. For some reason, I don't think it's that easy on here.

So I need someone to VERY VERY SLOWLY walk me thru the process of what I'd need to do from the point to where the pictures are stored in my picture file on my computer. Again I stress: VERY VERY SLOWLY. LOL I'm not the most gifted computer person in the world, and THAT is an understatement! Thank you to any who can try to help. I figure if I start now, I'll have it figured out before we leave in December.:rotfl2:

This is how I do it.

1. Take pic with digital camera.
2. Use USB wire to transfer to it to computer.
3. From computer transfer it to Photobucket.com (set up your free account there now)
4. Once there, scroll over top right of pic and a box comes up, select "get links". Click the bottom IMG link, it will say "copied".
5. Come to disboards right click mouse and paste.

It sounds difficult but isn't really that bad. We'd love to see your TR. If not live then when you get back home.

Thank you 2goofycampers! This actually sounds pretty easy- awesome instructions! I think when I get home from church today I will try it and see if I can get that to work! Watch for a picture later! :)

Android phone with descent camera. Photobucket app for android phone. Take the pictures and mark the ones you want to post. Using the photobucket app upload the images to your photobucket account. Using the DIS android app create the post and then using the photobucket app get the URL link (it will start and end with "img"). Paste that into your post and then send the post. Done. It all can be done with your phone using the two apps. The only down side is, you have to type your text on the phone or you can create the posts with the pictures on the phone and go back later on and add your text to the existing post with a computer just by editing your post. Play with the apps for 10min and you will have it all worked out. You can also set the photobucket app to automatically upload the image as you take it. I would not do this as you may accidentally upload images you don't want to...like of your finger, the floor, your leg....no i haven't done this... :rolleyes1

LOL rock doctor- you lost me at "android phone" :rotfl2: Of course, considering I don't even HAVE a cell phone, that's not surprising.... :rotfl:

OK- I am trying to figure this out- I apologize for the non- Fort related picture- I had this picture of one of our Basset Hound puppies on the computer, so it was easy to use- now to see if it works:

OK- I will post it and see what happens- right now it looks like a bunch of mumbo jumbo as I'm typing....

Congratulations !!:woohoo:
And what a cute fur baby !!

NO, no,,we want big pictures ! Don't make them any smaller, they are just right size. (ya gotta remember, my eyesight is get'n older with me, bigger is better)

I would post them a full resolution. I use pictures that i find on DIS as background pictures for my computer... So don't worry about the size. You can also post videos using photobucket or Ytube the same way, by posting the link. Just upload the video to photobucket or Ytube and copy the link they give you. It will not have "img" in it but that is ok. If posting a video just use file link button (
createlink.gif
). Now if the link for the picture does not have "img" in it then you would click on the image link at the top of your post (
insertimage.gif
) and paste the address in to that pop up box and then click ok. It just adds the "img" to the address. Good luck, have a great time. :cool1: I wanna go too.... :wave2: We will be in December so not too long to wait... :)

To post a video: click

Doc, thanks for the help in this thread. For those with the Android mobile app, it has an option to set the default upload folder. I have several pb folders (one for each trip) but on each trip I specify the folder to send all uploads to (for that trip) and it gets them in the right one.

Didn't do this the first time and all the pix went into the previous folder. So I learned from my mistake.

Thanks again, brother.

Thanks everyone! I am super excited now, because I know I can do this. I think I'll try finding some of my pictures from our other trip in 2012 and putting a couple in photo bucket, and practicing a few more times. But those will be actual Disney pictures-maybe I'll try posting under the "picture of the day" category! This is going to be so much fun!! :goodvibes And yep- those little Basset babies are absolutely precious- they are 3 weeks old tomorrow! They are the reason we are able to take our Disney vacation- it never ceases to amaze me that we can have the joy of raising these adorable little puppies, and not only that but people actually PAY us for them! It's a win- win situation! Kind of like grand kids- we get them when they are little and really cute, but when they get just big enough to get a little naughty off to their new families they go! ;)
