OK... I'm probably just in a panic over something that can be easily worked out. :worried:

Background info: myself, DH & twins (6), staying at POP, base tickets- no hopping- originally scheduled 7:30 dinner at Concourse Steakhouse (waaaayyy back) on arrival day since I didn't know when our flight would get in- thought 7:30 would be safe, then planned on heading to MK.

Problem- Found out there's no Spectromagic on either of our full days at MK (Sunday 9/24 & Friday 9/29- also doing MNSSHP) so now we nee to see it Sat.- which is fine since now we know our flight gets in at 1:30. Already have all my days planned and ADRs made for the rest of the week... naturally. Just called to get earlier ADR and the earliest was 9pm and latest lunch is 1:30! That means no Spectromagic (DS's fav) or no Concourse (DH really want to go).

I'm thinking I should switch my MK and AK days... IF... I can get LTT & Donald's breakfast switched and get a ressie at Concourse for Mon. night since AK closes at 5. If we stay for the parade what's the earliest we could get to the Contemorary? Had planned on going to DTD at end of AK day, but we can do that after dinner.

Someone please help! I'm one of those OC planners and this is really messing with me! Tell me Concourse it not worth it... tell me I have my Spectromagic days wrong... tell me you have solution...

Thanks!

Deep breath.....another one. Okay, that's better. Now....for me, it would be a no brainer. I would go with Spectro and forgo Concourse Steakhouse. Yes, it's an okay spot but it's not a 'must do' for us. It's just too similar to other steakhouses around the country. So, I would just let the ADR go and not worry about it.
However, your dh may feel differently. The CR is probably one of the easier resorts to get to from just about anywhere on-site. So....is there a day, at any point, in your vacation, that you have an opening for dinner? If so, try to plug in Concourse (if you can get an ADR). Since you don't have to use park entry to eat there, you can go to a park, then head to CR for dinner, then head back to that original park.
I wouldn't try to switch your other ADRs around. It's a bit late in the game for that. I don't think you'll find too much available now that the free dining is in full swing. I would try to be happy with the ADRs you have, possibly squeeze Concourse in someplace else or just simply forgo it this trip. It's just not that terrific, or unique enough of a place to get all worked up over.
However, others may disagree with that opinion.

Do you have a car or are you using WDW transportation?

From AK to the Contemporary is a bit of a distance (frankly AK to ANYWHERE is a ways). Driving time is probably about 10-15 minutes assuming average traffic.

If you are taking a bus, you have to factor in wait time, and other drop offs. I'd allow 20 minutes wait time then 30 minutes travel time.

I'm blanking on the AK parade time (we don't watch it often). I think it's 3 pm. So assuming you left the park by 4, and took the bus, you should be able to be at the Contemporary by about 5. If you're driving, you could make it by 4:30 easily.

Hope that helps.

Well, I'll be honest. Without the park hopper option, this is going to be difficult. With your trip coming up so soon, I am thinking it is going to be incredibly difficult to switch any ADRs or to make any new ones at decent times. Normally, I would say just cut some time off from another day at the parks and hop on over to MK in time for the parade, but without hoppers, you can't do that.

I saw, try to swith your ADRs. They shouldnt be too difficult, so you might stand a chance. Otherwise, I think it may come down to making a decision between Concourse or Spectromagic. That, or purchasing the hoper options to your tickets.

Good luck.

Make your new ADRs before you cancel the old ones - you don't want to lose them incase you can't make the switches needed.

If you end up having to chose, I agree with an earlier poster - go with Spectro. My family loves the Concourse Steakhouse, but it's just a steak. Spectro is, well, unlike anything anywhere else!!

Thanks all! Yes, breathe... and again... I tend to get a little panicky when things mess up my charts and spreadsheets!! I've spent too much time planning our days and other ressies to switch at this point so we'll just go on to MK upon arrival. I made a ressie at Concourse for 8:30 pm on our AK day- late dinner for the kids, but they are troopers! We're flying and won't have a car, but surely the internal transportation can get us there by 8:30 :teeth:
Looking on the plus side here... now that I'm not in a panic...will we be able to see Wishes from the Contemporary or perhaps the Electrical Water Pageant? Thanks again everyone!
