Hi all I'm not a member of costco bu I would be willing to join if I could get a 3 night disney cruise for a good price. I tried to call them but the guy on the phone said he couldnt even give me any prices withouth being a member? :( :( :( :( :(

If anyone could help me I would really appreciate it.
Thank you

All I can recommend is to buy a membership. If you get one and don't like your quote or won't actually shop there ( it's quite a nice place to shop ..) you can get your membership fee back. It's refundable... Most people don't realize that.

You can always use Dreams Unlimited to get a "no obligation" quote and ask for the price broken down into cruise rate and taxes. I believe Costco is 10% less of the cruise rate itself. Since Dreams offers a rebate and an agent to answer all your questions, make changes, give tips, etc and Costco doesn't, you can weigh the differences of buying the Costco membership with their discount and no help vs the Dreams cost and rebate (and we continue to look for discounts if DCL offers them, something else Costco doesn't do) AND having an agent to help you with anything you need.

If you have any questions, I would be happy to answer them for you.

I was VERY happy with the service I received from Dreams for our April DCL trip. BUT, I was disappointed when I tried to contact them to book for RCL Navigator April 2004. Rep returned my email stating sorry but their system doesnt' go up that far and I can wait until closer to the date and check a rate myself --- ummmmm, not sure what happened to the 'service'? RCL is booking thru April 2004 -- couldn't Dreams just pick up the phone and get me a quote? I hope that we don't lose that personal (although email) service that Dreams had when they were dealing only with Disney Trips.
:(

Jody,
The RCL is part of a new line of products and we now have a designated person (who happens to be a Cruise Queen) ;) to look after this. RCL didn't have the 2004 prices out yet on the online booking system we use. DreamsCruise is a self-serve system, unlike Dreams Unlimited Travel, that is why you were told to check back then yourself.

Hope that explains things and if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to e-mail me at caty@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

I'd still try Costco. I have had much better customer service with Costco than I did when I tried getting information from Dreams Unlimited. And the Costco price blew the other out of the water. You can join online, call and get the price quote and if you aren't ever going to use the store or travel service, cancel the membership for a full refund. They are a great company.

When I booked my cruise through Costco I was told that their prices worked as follows: they took the base price for the cruise (before port charges, taxes, air, insurance, transfers, etc.), then subtracted 5% for an inside room, and 10% for an outside room.

It's worth checking out, in my opinion - of course, I was already a Costco member, so it was an easier choice for me.;) I saved $171 over Dreams Unlimited, after the $75 rebate, and I figured I could hopefully keep track of possible discounts via the DIS boards! I also had great customer service from Costco.

Since I'm not a FL resident, nor an Annual Passholder for any of the parks, this is my first Disney cruise, and we're sailing in Feb. 2003, I'll be (pleasantly) surprised if any forthcoming discounts are applicable to me. I've already added the $50 first-timers' credit, thanks to the boards!

You should just call them and get a price quote. I'm a member, but they have never asked me for my membership number for just a price quote. And, if they do ask when you call, just tell them you'll join if the discount makes it worthwhile...
