Help!! I'm confused

I am confused. We are new to DVC and want to book the following trips. We got three contracts and three different use years, Feb, June and Dec. On our VGC with a June use year we have 173 banked points and 180 coming. On our BLT with a Feb use year we have 100 bank points and the 100 points available for the year. On our SSR with a Dec use year we have 25 for the year and 150 coming in Dec. The accounts are not linked. Ok now the confusing part, we want to take a vacation to the VGC in November of '15 that is going to use 260, we also want to take a vacation another VGC in March of '16 that needs 166 and VGC in May of '16 (Tinkerbell 1/2 marathon) for 135 points. How can I utilize my points to stay at the VGC with all the points I have?

All you can do is book VGC with your available VGC banked, borrowed, and regular points at 11 months.

You can try to book with your other points at 7 months out but don't expect much.

Wow! Why did you purchase so many different use years? I think the ownership and point allocation is the confusing part. The reservation part is easy.

First of all, when you say your VGC contract has 173 banked points, are those points banked into your 2014 or 2015 use year?

Your trips in November, March, and May are all within the same use year (2015) for your VGC (June) contract. If those banked points are in your 2015 use year, then you can use them, the 180 "coming" points and you can borrow from your 2016 use year, but that will still leave you 28 points short. So, book as much as you can at 11 months, and hope you can get the last day or two that you need at 7 months. You better hurry, though. Some nights in November are already unavailable.

Sorry, this sounds like a mess. Given the specifics and desire, here's what I'd do. Assuming your 173 banked points are now in the June, 15 UY (already banked) and that you'll have 180 coming this June and 180 to borrow, here's an approach you could try. Of course you're already behind on the booking window for Nov of this year. Ignoring availability issues, I'd book the Nov, 15 trip now then try to substitute any points you can when the 7 month window opens in a couple of months (there are ways to do so in most situations). That'll leave you 93 points that are bankable in your June VCG UY plus any points you can free up. I'd use the points from the BLT contract if you can, at least the 100 banked points.

Then when the booking window opens for March, 16 use any remaining June, 15 points and do the same substitution when the 7 month window opens for the March, 16 reservation. Then when the May, 16 window opens, reserve anything you can with any remaining VGC points then add to it as much as possible when the 7 month window opens for that time. You'll need to borrow from the 2016 June UY

You have several issues though. You may not be able to use the BLT banked points as you have only one reservation before they will expire. You're be counting on using a full 100 or more for the Nov, 15 reservation. I'm not sure that's likely though there is current availability for 1 & 2 BR options only (non lockoff) for all of the month. The other issue you have is that you'll need to reserve the May 16 trip before you have a chance to free up other points from the March reservation though you'll still be 9 months out. You may want to go ahead and just rent out the BLT points that are banked and then maybe do a transfer for VGC points or look at cash for one of your trips.

You sure have made this complicated, I'm hoping there was a master plan that will work long term.
