We are going for 8 days. My girls only have 5 shorts. Do you wash or rewear?

I pack each day in a ziplock. Not having bottoms in 2 bags is killing me! Lol

We have started bringing half the amount of clothes and washing half way through. It takes a few hours total and we use that as down time and pool time one afternoon or morning. It works out really well. $2 per wash/dry cycle and $1 for detergent.

I agree with mm1971. Plus it saves more luggage room to bring home souvenirs.

We are a family if 5. We do laundry daily at Disney. We went for 10 days in August and wore 2 outfits/day. There is no way I would bring 20 outfits let alone have 20 outfits.

The kids brought 5 shorts and 5 shirts/tanks, maybe 6 because I had them bring 1 t-shirt each in case they got sunburned on their shoulders. Dh and I brought 4-5 shorts and shirts as well.

We also do laundry during our mid day break. But on some days that we didn't go to the park, I had my laundry washed, folded and put away by 8am...just in time to get a spot at the poly pool for the day!

We're going for 8 days, ill pack 12 outfits and do wash around day 5 or 6. Love doing laundry and packing clean clothes to come home with!

I bring two pairs of shorts and rewear. I would bring the five put one outfit in a ziplock bag to the park an leave that same outfit there until they need it. Than you can re wear each one once unless they spill no biggie.

I think either strategy is fine. I rewear bottoms often, but not tops. It's also not a big deal to do a load of laundry on the trip. Don't stress about your couple shortless bags!

We do laundry on vacation but we stay in a condo/villa. If my kids only needed two pair of shorts each, I might just buy them 2 pair now to make myself feel better.

Take a deep breath!!!!!!!!!!!

I personally like to only pack clothes for half of the trip and wash while I am there!
Its not a big deal to do laundry at Disney. There are laundry rooms by all the pools so I throw a few loads in and go relax by the pool for 25 minutes. Then come back and throw them in the dryer wait about 40 minutes because Disney dryers take forever to dry.
So now you have spend 1 hour relaxing by the pool while doing laundry. Not so bad is it.
Then best of all I do the same thing the last day of our trip and I come home with most of our clothes already washed!

If you can't do it on your last day and you have only packed enough clothes for half of your trip . You have now cut down on the amount of clothes you will have to wash when you get home.

Now stop worrying and get unpacking!!! You can survive on 1/2 the amount of clothes you normally pack. Try it and you will be convinced that this is the way to travel :cool1:

Make sure to bring some dryer sheets with you. That way you don't have to buy softner in the laundry room.

You could order a few pair from Gymboree.com. I just looked and they have some on sale for as low as $5.

Be aware that between November and March, Orlando does not necessarily have shorts weather every day. On some of our November and December visits it never got warm enough to wear shorts at all during the course of an entire week.

When we visit in late fall, winter or early spring, my go-to "bottom" item is ripstop pants that can roll up to capri-length and button, because I can wear them full-length in the morning and after the sun goes down, and roll them during the warmest part of the day.. I dress DD the same way, and the guys tend to prefer zip-off sport pants for their versatility.

In case of cooler weather, I also pack 4 "must-bring" items for each of us when we visit during this time of year: lightweight gloves, a windbreaker, a light fleece jacket, and a pair of silk long underwear to layer under thinner pants if there is a cold snap.

I can't count the number of times we've seen people walking around the parks huddled in a character hoodie with their legs tinged faintly blue because they mistakenly thought that Orlando always is warm in winter. Orlando is definitely NOT Miami; and it can get quite chilly due to the frequent rainy weather in winter. The average temperature from Nov-Mar is in the mid- to low-60's, but freezes do happen, especially at night.

I used to pack enough clothes for everyday but now I only take a few things and wash 1/2 through the trip. I started that when there was 10 of us going and we had a washer/dryer in the villa with us but the last 2 trips we've stayed at All-Stars and I wash the clothes while the kids swim. Also, if we haven't needed that particular thing the next day I have handwashed stuff in the sink or tub and just hung them to dry in the shower and ironed them when dry.

We re-wear bottoms, but not tops.

I hate doing laundry on vacation. I know lots of people do it, and it would probably be easy to do while swimming. I just don't.
