Grover: How fun! I've received quite a few handmade wedding invitations and they're always lovely, and so personal! And I used to sell wedding invitations and bridal gowns, so combining weddings & scrapping is my idea of fun!!
One idea that came to mind is something I did when scrapping my best friend's wedding (they went to WDW for their honeymoon). I used circle punches to make two black mouse heads, then added a black top hat and black bow tie to one and a white ear bow and a veil made of vellum to the other. They turned out pretty cute ... I'd even go so far as to say classy (in a Mickey sorta way!). If you and your df are going somewhere tropical for your honeymoon, you could send your gift thank-yous with Mickey and Minnie heads wearing tropical flowers -- a punched-flower lei for Mickey and a flower behind the ear for Minnie!
Ooh! I just thought of something else! Do you stamp at all? The company I rep for, Close to My Heart, makes a set of stamps that includes 2 circle swirls that, when used together, make a neat Mickey head. You could stamp them on paper with clear embossing ink and sprinkle black or silver (or any other color -- maybe one of your wedding colors?) embossing powder on them and heat set them. Then you could print your invitation on vellum and attach it on top of the Mickey-embossed paper with a pretty white or silvery organdy ribbon. That would be elegant and easy! Any other enclosures (such as your reply cards and thank yous) could be done the same way!
