Help-I want a cute pic, too!

Please help me! I want a cute pic in my signature area in my profile, and here are the directions I was given:
I think that your looking at my siggy. The clipart is courtesy of Routeman Dan. Here are the directions I found on the Tech Board on how to add a picture to your signature. HTH!

1. Pick a picture

2. Right mouse click on it

3. Go to properties

4. Highlight address url. Right click again and select copy. Place pointer over the highlighted part and then left click on copy. Make sure to copy from the http at the beginning, all the way to the end

5. Copy address

6. Come back to your post

7. Type "" without the quotes

8. Paste the address with no space between the "[ ]" and the "h" in the address

9. Type "" immediately after your address without the quotes

10. Click submit

So, I went into the signature area in my profile, followed above directions, hit the edit profile button, and thought it was a go. When I did a posting, I was slightly embarassed to see it did not work; instead, in this area is the "address" it was supposed to be. My profile is "Chip1" Can you HELP me? Thanks.

You're close there. You just can't leave out any of those pesky little characters and you're a few short.

Try this:

to get this:

is this your pic?

You have 2 possible problems - the wdwinfo.com site is not working anymore (it seems to work intermittently, but it's supposed to be disappearing altogether soon) so you need to find a different place to put your pic, then

you need to copy this

img]http://www.wdwinfo.com/sites/family/loveairdvc2.jpg[/img

only put a [ and ]at the start and end, and it should be ok.

Thanks, I am soooooo excited. By the way, what was that about WDWinfo.com not working soon? I am on there everyday getting to these discussion boards. What is happening to it?

Bev wasn't talking about the entire site, just the personal web pages where you picture is stored. Here's the link.

Since RMD made your pic, he will probably find another place to store it. Just email or pm him and ask him if there is another address for your clipart.

Thanks, now I can relax!! By the way, all this technical stuff is so difficult and confusing. Now that I have clip art, it will stay, right?

No, not necessarily.

Websites come and go. As Bev said, the DIS personal websites will be going soon. We've found a few alternate sites to host our clipart, but they could go at any time without warning. I would definitley save your clipart to your hard drive. Then at least you will have it to upload to another site.
