Hi All,
I'm completely new at this...have NO idea how or what to do with this 'posting' stuff..... I am just 'feeling my way' around, and hit the button to put on a new message (thread?)...
Anyway.... my parents, my two daughters (ages 14 and 17) and I are planning a Disney trip to Kissimmee this summer....We had thought we were going to go the last few days of June- into July - have about a 2 week vacation. Get a 7 day ticket to WDW, and maybe a 3 or 4 day ticket and go to Universal....
ANYway... here's my question. We are on a TIGHT budget.... been to WDW many times, never been able to stay on property.... can't do it this time either.... BUT, have resigned to that fact. NOW, we are trying to decide whether to go instead the first two weeks of August, as opposed to going over the time period that includes 4th of July....
WHICH time period would be less crowded?? SOrta the lesser of the two evils, is what I want to get an opinion on.

Also, I am planning on buying the book "The Cheapskates Guide to WDW" to try to find ways to cut cost. One thing we've always done on previous trips was that we took lots of sandwiches in our packs and saved money on eating while in the park during the day/evenign...
Can we still do that? Or do they 'check your bags at the door' each morning, and not let you carry in anything edible??

I need lots of help here in terms of ideas, and info....
I LOVE WDW, but when we go, [being a single mom- and teacher with not tons of money to blow] I/we have to really watch the pennies....
we stay in the same room, and cut cost that way too.....

Thanks in advance for any help I can get...

Welcome to the boards. Just keep reading and you will find an answer.

My only 2 cents is that it is HOT in the summer! I've been in August and the humidity in the air usually causes it to rain daily for a short period of time.
Doesn't sound that bad until you are stuck with 3 kids in a que line for Jungle Cruise.

"When is it going to stop raining?!" over and over and over again.

HI! Thanks for the reply post....I had to laugh when I read your "HOT" statement....and yeah- that's for sure!! 99% of all the times I/we've been, was in the summer.... been once during the Christmas/New Years break time, and about froze my rear off...couldn't beleive how cold it was that year!!! ANyway, I noticed all your 'countdowns' to your forthcoming trips.... WOW!!! I must say, not only was I a bit on the green side reading them, but pretty confused as to HOW anyone can afford to do that!!! It is taking an act of Congress for THIS single mom and her two kids to just be able to go [the budget route] this ONE time! It is going to completely break me, but it's been 7 years, and my oldest daughter is graduating next year from high school, so I figure it has to be THIS summer, or else, she's gonna be out of the house and gone on her own before I know what's hit me.... gotta have some 'Disney' memories before she leaves and enters the 'grown up' adult world on her own... :moped:

Well, I have been critically ill for over a year and thought I would go all out this year and have fun because I pulled myself through a very tough sickness. Let's hope I make all of them. I am cheering for me... LOL :cheer2: :cheer2:
