The teacher and I are colleagues --- she should know that this is beyond me - LOL!!!

The kids are having a beach party, and the teacher asked me to make "2 dozen beach-themed cookies".

HUH!??!

HELP!!! I just know somebody out there will have the PERFECT solution to my dilemma!!

Round sugar cookies (could even be the Pillsbury cut and bake kind), and then ice them like beach balls! No fancy cutting!!!!

ok, not very exciting but simply round cookies iced with 3 colors to look like a beachball...

LOL - - you guys are funny posting the same idea! That's a good one!!!

DD actually just asked if we could do blue jell-o cups with beach umbrellas and gummy fish instead of cookies?!??!

I seem to remember a recipe in a magazine with blue jell-o and crushed Nilla wafers (sand), but I can't find it now!

Anyone...........????????

Or you could frost them blue and stick a gummy fish or other gummy sea creature on it.

that sounds cute too:thumbsup2

I would just make a batch of pecan sandies and call it a day. Sand.... sandies... close enough!

P.S. if the above circle beach balss sound too fancy you could cut out rectangles and make tham beach towels

I think this works best for cupcakes but you could do the same for cookies too:
-frost your cookie/cupcake with blue icing
-crush graham crackers up, very finely
-sprinkle graham crumbles on half of cupcake to make the "beach"
-leave the other half blue and throw a gummi fish on!!

Good luck OP!

I was going to suggest beach towels as well! They'd be pretty easy to frost - just lay them end to end on a cookie sheet or wax paper or whatever, then use different tubes of icing to pipe down them, making stripes. :)

I love the idea, but want to warn you about ingredients. When my daughter was in 2nd grade we did this as a B-Day snack. Well, I used a generic gummy fish and they bled in the blue jello! Maybe if you wait until the jello hardens and cools a little it wouldn't bleed. :confused3 It really looked bad and the little kids were afraid to eat it and making comments about how gross it was. Not one of best Mommy moments! :sad2:

Palm Tree Cookie Cutters. The shape speaks for itself if you don't want to deal with the icing portion...
