This is my first time on DCL. I really need to change my seating from the second seating to the first seating. My husband and I will be traveling with DS (3yrs) and twins DD and DS (16mo). They will never make it until 8:30pm to eat, let alone stay awake that late! My inlaws are also coming to help out with the kids but I wanted to be able to eat together at least a couple of times. Does anyone have any tips for getting the early seating? Is it possible for them to sleep in the nursery? Oh, one more question. How do you know your dinner rotation?

Thanks for any help! :wave2:

First of all if the ship is full you will not be able to change your seating. The very thing happened to us when we took our DCL. DS was 2 at the time and TA assured us we could change our seating once we were on board. Wrong! I did everything I could think of. We were 2nd on the waiting list to change our seating and couldn't. The first people on the list couldn't get the time changed either. I even showed up at the early seating at the restaurant and almost begged. But the answer was the ship is full, we cannot change your seating. I got alot of suggestions to eat somewhere other than the dining room but when paying all that money of course you want to eat in the dining room. I learned my lesson, I will not book another cruise unless we board knowing we have first seating. We got through it OK. But DS was very cranky at dinner and even fell asleep 1 night. Good Luck in changing your dinner time.
