I am looking for some advice from all of you cruisers out there. DBF and I would like to take a cruise for vacation this year. Unfortunately, due to his work schedule, we must go while schools are out...and cruises are the most expensive. At that time of year, I just don't think we can afford a Disney Cruise :( :( :( We are currently looking at either a Royal Caribbean or Carnival Cruise. Having never cruised before, I don't really know where to start, and was wondering if there are any discussion boards out there for other cruise lines? Any suggestions or advice are appreciated! TIA!

I would have a hard time recommending carnival. I have heard horror stories about them. One of the their ships dock out of here in Tampa.

My husband & myself have sailed on carnival 2 times and loved both cruises. our first cruise was a 4 day on fantasy to the bahamas. the 2nd was a 7 day on destiny to cozamel, grand cayman & jamaica.
we are going with disney this july cause we are taking our 10 yr old grandson. We believe this is a cruise we can all love.

I haven't been on the others but I have been on Carnival and I would not recommend them unless you are looking for a "booze cruise" type cruise.

This same question comes up from time to time and from what I've seen, there are people that have enjoyed both Carnival and Royal Caribbean. However, the general concensus usually ends up that if you're looking for a line like Disney, RCCL is closer to the experience than Carnival is.
