OK...

My brother and his family are taking their first trip to Disney!! My neice and nephew are 6 and 3. So....I have given them all the advice I could think of...including most importantly to search this board, because y'all made OUR trips so great!!!

My question is...I want to do something, send something to them on their trip from our family. Anyone have any ideas of something I can do while they are in WDW without breaking the bank???

Come on...I know y'all can think of something cute for me!!

PS. It's been three years since our last trip!! I had to re-registar to get back on this board!!! I am so glad to see how much this board has grown and thrived since we first started using it.....Way to go Pete!!!!

Something I just did last month for my DD's (7 and 5) first trip, was to have gift baskets delivered to them. I ordered them from disneyflorst.com and included things we were going to buy them anyway - autograph book, pen, small photo album, basic ears, disposable camera, a balloon, and a few snacks. I was going to include a stuffed animal, but my girls are too picky about that sort of thing :-)

My daughters loved them!

What a nice gesture!!!

I would recommend putting a "Disney care package" together and sending it down ahead of them. I did this for my own DS3 and DD1 before our trip last month, and it was SO FUN to see my DS's face when we checked in and "there was a gift for him from Mickey!" We were staying in a villa with a kitchen, so I sent down Mickey and Princess plates, bowls, and utensils. The beauty of this kind of gift is that it can be fun regardless of how much or how little you spend. You can hit the dollar store or the Disney store - they don't care. It's the fun of having that package upon arrival - I even wrapped it up in Mickey paper and everything and included a note from Mickey himself.

Good luck - I hope the pixie dust comes back 'round your way. :-)

Disney dollars (they have princess and pirate ones now so I have seen posted) I purchased some disposable cameras at walmart last year that were princesses and mickey. Your niece could do BBB so you could give her disney dollars for this. Your nephew can also get a cool dude do check out the link in my sig for the info and pics. Don't forget autograph books. What about a pal mickey

I knew you guys would come through with some ideas!!

If I do decide to send a package for them...how do I do it?? Just send it to the hotel that they are staying at in the park??? What if I get it htere too early?? will they hold it until they arrive, will it be opened by the staff??

Questions, Questions...

I went through the same thing in December. My sister and her family were going for Christmas. I called www.memoriesbysarah.com and had a basket made for them. It was adorable. Sarah is awesome to work with and very reasonable.

When I sent our care package down, I sent it through the good ol' United States postal service. I sent it about a week ahead of time. Address it to the person whose name the reservation is under, and mail it to the physical address of the resort they are staying at. If you can, unclude the reservation number at the bottom of the package. Since this is a surprise gift, that might be hard to track, so just include the word "Guest" after their name. People send packages down ahead of themselves all the time - there should be no problem.

We had absolutely no problems with our package. It was unopened and waiting for us when we checked in.

Good luck!
