Due to a very unique set of circumstances, Dh has the possibility of getting a job teaching. This is something he has always wanted to do. But the problem is he would have to start Sept. 4th when school goes back. We are leaving sept. 2 for WDW. My question is should I try to go to Disney by myself with 2 and 4 year old. There is no one who is available to come with me. My Mom and Dad are both teachers, my brothers and sister are all working or in school. Dh's Mom who is actually meeting us in West Palm Beach for a few days at the beginning of the trip has spent the last month in Brazil and she has to get home. So if I decide to do this I will be on my own. If we cancel and rebook we will be out about $700.00 in airfare. I can still cancel the hotel and of course the park tickets are good forever. I am really leaning towards taking the kids by myself. We have been talking about it, planning this trip since last year and my 4 year old is so excited I would hate to disappoint her. I would shorten the trip probably just 3-4 days. Then we could return during March with Dh. Let me know what you all think. I would really love to hear from someone who has gone alone with small children. Can you sit 3 on most rides in fantasy land? Thanks for any advise.
Seriously though, I would go for it. A few times every year, my 11 year old DS and I have "Mom and Jonathan's Special Day Out." I take a vacation day and we go, just by ourselves, to a local amusement park, zoo, science center, museum, etc. We always have a super time, with just the two of us. We have been doing this since he was about 5 years old. This year though, I had to save up enough vacation time for our upcoming WDW trip, so we had to restrict it to a couple of Saturday outings. Simply explain to your children ahead of time that some rides require both Mommy and Daddy to ride with the kids, so they won't be too disappointed if there is something that the 3 of you can't ride together. Since you will have no one to help you, a double stroller would probably be a lifesaver in this situation. Have a great time and I hope your DH enjoys his new job.
But we do get to all go to WDW together
. Anyway thanks for your advise. I have to say i am quite happy I don't have to do it alone. Goodluck to those of you that do.
