HELP....I need advice....nothing major though.....

I was talking to a friend about my New Orleans anniversary trip and telling her about my zoo-aquarium cruise. She mentioned to me about the IMAX movie at the Aquarium of Americas and that I should consider it. Has anyone ever done an IMAX movie? I am just clueless!! My friend was telling me that she and her DH did the one in 3D and it was sooooooooooo much fun. She goes to New Orleans every 5 years and celebrates their anniversary as that is where they had their honeymoon. Isn't that neat?
So, what the heck is an IMAX movie? Is it a special theater or something that gives the movie a different effect? Can anyone help me out and tell me if I should try something different. If I added the IMAX to the package I'm looking at for DH and I it would only be another $6.25. So instead of $32.50, it would cost us $36.75 a peice for the Aquarium, Zoo, Cruise, and IMAX movie.
I would love the advice of my DIS buddies. Looking to hear from you soon.

Hi Denise,

The IMAX theatre at the Aquarium of the Americas is reallyl nice. The screen is huge and it curves so that you see the movie in your peripheral vision. Also it offers stadium style seating so that each row of seats is considerably higher that the one in front of it so that you never have someone's head right in your line of vision. We've seen a couple of movies there. I would definitely recommend it

I went to the IMAX last month two times to see TLK (once in Chicago and once in Columbus). I think it is a neat movie theater and I am sure I will want to go back again. Also considering we paid $10 each for the movie, it sounds like yours is a great deal

IMAX at $6.25 is a real deal - no matter what movie you see! It definitely is a special treat - I say: go for it!

I love IMAX! Everything is special about an IMAX movie. They're filmed to be 5X larger than a normal movie and the sound is exceptional. Most IMAX movies run from 35 - 75 minutes. I've seen IMAX movies on Everest, Thrill Rides, African Animals, Car Racing, Antarctica, Dinosaurs, Alaska, Cirque du Soleil, the Grand Canyon, Beauty and the Beast.... and a couple I forget. They're well worth the cost.
