I started my summer Calculus Class tonight and the prof said that everyone needs a TI 83 or 86 Graphing Calculator. The class is only 8 weeks long and she expects us (those who don't have one already) to buy a $100-130 calculator. That's crazy and there's no way I can afford this because I'm paying for the class myself as it is. The cheapest one I can find is $50 used. Thats still way out of my price range.

Can anyone help me out? Do you have one laying around that you would be willing to sell me for cheap or rent out for 8 weeks? PLEASE! I need to take this class this Summer or my whole schedule next Fall will be screwed.

Thanks!

My dd lost mine. I bet it's in her room somewhere. I'm not brave enough to look in there.

Have you tried looking at pawn shops? The cheapest I know you'll be able to find one there is $40.

I wish I could help you, but I'm having to shell out for a 2nd one....oldest DS is taking Chemistry in summer school and my high school aged DS is taking Pre-Calculus. Their classes are at the same time, so they can't share the one we already have! :(

Thanks everyone.

I really can't afford more than $25-30 though. I've looked at Ebay, Yahoo, and Amazon. Too expensive.

The thing that sucks the most is that I will never use this calculator again after I have to shell out all this money for it. This is my last math class, ever. Thank goodness.

Talk to your teacher. Sometimes they have an extra one you could borrow.

I would lend you mine (I shelled out the 100 bucks last year for Stats and Chem) but I need it for my pre-calc and physics exams in the next 2 weeks as well as prep.

Sometimes Walmart has really good sales on them though.

You can always sell your calculator to someone after your class ends.:)

Already asked. She doesn't have any extras and barely can find her own (couldn't find it at all last night).

True, but I would only make half what I paid for it.

Thanks anyhow guys.
