Oh great and wonderful budget boarders I come to you seeking help! I need a princess dress for my daughter. The only problem is she is 9 years old and bigfor her age. She wears 6-8 petite in ladies. I just do not want to spend $70+ for a dress for her. I can not sew! Any ideas. I have looked on ebay and craiglist but, nothing!! She loves Aurora and Cinderella. TIA for any help you can provide.

Halloween stores should be opening soon (if they aren't already). They always have adult Cinderella costumes. You might try one of them.

WOW You are fast! I have been looking at a lot of costume stores and the cheapest dress I could find for an adult was $59.99 plus shipping!:scared1: I just do not want to pay that much for her to wear it one time at WDW and then it will go to Goodwill! She really doesn't play dress up anymore so, we have no further use after the trip! Thanks though for the tip. :)

Go to the consignment stores that sell formalwear. You just need a prom or bridesmaid dress in the right color. Then, you can glue on your own trim, beading, jewels, etc. The dresses should be clearanced by now, since the spring bride/prom season is over.

Good luck! Keep us updated, as I love to hear a good shopping success story!:lovestruc

Disneyshopping has Giselle and jasmine for 29.99 in adults sizes

Thanks so much for the great ideas. I tried Disneystore.com but, they seem to be down. I will try later. Thanks again for all the help!

Try GoodWill stores, they are cheaper than consignments.. I got a really nice blue gown there that I use as a Cinderella dress. I throw on a white shawl or sweater.. and a crown.. and good to go.. cost me $8 :cool1: and didn't even have to take it to the dry cleaners.... it was already cleaned :yay: I have worn it at least 4 Halloweens now...

try Goodwill ;)

I agree, an old prom dress/thrift store/consignment store along with a glue gun for lace, etc. would be great. I just finished designing and sewing costumes for a musical theater production.....you cannot believe what we were able to do with old bridesmaid dresses, etc/
