Help, I just got a perm and I hate it

Serena purchase some Rush Bloform it's like a mouse. Finger it through your hair and just go natural. Do not blow dry it. It will relax quickly.

Oh, you don't even want to hear my perm stories. Each and every time, my naturally pin straight hair responded with a poodle effect to a perm.

I have long since given up on them, as straight as my hair is and as annoying as it is to do anything with, I have come to the conclusion that perms + snoopy do not mix.

Wash it a bunch and use a good conditioner, it should relax a bit with time.

I keep telling myself, I'll learn to deal with it, I'll know better next time, and it will grow.

Lesson learned, Don't try to fix something that isn't broke.

Hi Serena!
First off if you want curl dont run solution through your hair just wait it out!(unless you do not want any curl at all then yes go to the salon in a week or so and have them straighten it do not try this at home) Do you have some natural wave to your hair?? If so perms take 2 to 3 times tighter! I would say just condition your hair (Leave in will way it down more too) and use a sculpting gel or glaze Gel is for control this will control the curl, mouse is for volume.
As far as the smell that has alot to do with the rinsing of the perm(before neutalizing) the more you rinse the less smell.
But the smell will fade with time so dont worry!
There are some perm solutions that my skin just really seems to drink up and when I give the perm I can smell it for almost 2 days! Oh, I should be wearing gloves...
Oh boy do I hear ya Buck!! I hate to give perms and basically do not do but maybe two a year now!! Hey I started doing hair in the 80s so I payed my dues doing atleast two perms a day and spiral perms at that!! YUCK!!!

I get my hair permed about 4 times a year. I HATE it every time for the first week. (I know, maybe I should find a different style that I don't hate 4 weeks out of every year!) The smell varies from person-to-person. Mine don't stink after I've washed it twice. I adhere to the "don't wash for at least 3 days" rule just after getting the perm. That's always hard to do. Give it some time - you might end up liking it!

I get perms 3 times a year, my hair is totally straight otherwise, no body. I hate it the first week too, it's too tight and curly. Then after about a week it relaxes. I wait 2 or 3 days to shampoo, my hairdresser says 2 days. I rinse it in clear water the first couple of days to help get the smell out and the smell is usually gone after the first shampoo.
