I have an impossible english assignment due tomorrow. I have to find 5 poems, (I have 3 already) and then I have to find things like, refrain, rhyme scheme, meter, onomatopoeia, alliteration, metaphor and personification and then I have to tell how that helps convey the meaning of the poem:confused: If you have any ideas, please help! Right now I have Fame is a Fickle Food by Emily Dickinson, an un-named poem by Emily Dickinson, and Life is Fine by Langston Hughes. If you have any ideas, please tell me!!!!!!

the Maldive shark - Henry David Thoreau
the chambered nautilus (compares growth of human soul to the growth of the nautilus shell)- Oliver Wendall Holmes
This is my letter to the world-- Emliy Dickinson
The tide rises the tide falls- Longfellow
The Courtin- James R. Lowell

I know it's late, but I hope it helps.

I really like Dulci et Decorum Est, I just had to read/analyze it for English.

There are also some other Langston Hughes poems that are short and really easy to understand, like The Weary Blues.
