We are going to be on the dining plan when we visit WDW 11/30-12/6 and I just got done revising our dining reservations then I realized that I have 9 table service meals planned, we are going to be there 7 nights so 7 of the table service meals could be used on the dining plan and 2 paid for out of pocket, that is not a problem I just need some help figuring out which ones would be a better value to use the dining plan and which one to pay oop. Please look at these and let me know what you would do.

Whispering Canyon dinner
Planet Hollywood dinner
Crystal palace breakfast
Ohana dinner
Cape May Cafe dinner
Sci-fi lunch
1900 Park Fare dinner
Rose and Crown dinner
Liberty Tree Tavern dinner

Thanks
Kim

Look at the menus and try to figure out prices of what you might be interested in ordering to figure out what will end up being cheaper. This is what I did to figure out what to pay out of pocket. From our list of ADR's, Whispering Canyon was one of the cheaper ones, so that may the case for you too. Also, breakfast is usually the cheaper meal, so Crystal Palace might be another one.

I would suggest to pay OOP for the Sci-Fi lunch, and probably either Planet Hollywood dinner or Crystal Palace Breakfast. I suppose it depends on what you would most likely order at Planet Hollywood like burgers or fries, or an actual steak dinner. Because i know with past experiences Planet Hollywood has been not "cheap" but much cheaper than a Signature dining experience! And of course Crystal Palace is a set price  Good Luck!! and have an Awesome trip!
:thumbsup2 :cool1:

Breakfast, lunch and buffets are usually better to pay OOP because they cost less (usually), you don't get dessert at breakfast and you get appy's/desserts in a dinner buffet. BTW, PH has really good desserts ;)

Check out the menus to see what you would order and see what will work best for you :goodvibes

Hey we're in the same situation. I just couldn't resist making a few extra ADR's. I am also planning to pay oop for our Sci-Fi lunch. We ate there during free dining last year, and iirc it was one of the cheapest ones, especially at lunch time. The portions are huge, I think Dh and I would happily split a sandwich and a plate of onion rings. Also the breakfasts are fairly reasonable too, which is where I plan to make up my other oop ones. Have a great trip!!

I would definitely do Sci-fi and lean toward CP, but you should probably take into account what you would order at other places...if you're just going to get sandwiches and soft drinks at Planet Hollywood, that might be cheaper...

I would pay OOP for Crystal Palace and 1900 Park Fair because they are both a flat rate of $18.99 and it's buffet with drink included. The other restaurants you have listed sell entrees, desserts, and drinks separate with the entrees being $18+, desserts near $10, and drinks $3-$5 so it's better if you using your dining credits for those restaurants instead.

Edit, didn't realize OP said 1900 park faire dinner. I strangely read breakfast. Anywhoo, I would say crystal palace and sci-fi lunch.

Park faire dinner is $29.99. I would go with crystal palace breakfast and sci fi lunch too.

Are $15 vouchers for Planet Hollywood still included with the packages? That might be a good one to pay OOP if so.

I haven't gotten my package docs yet, so I don't know if that's part of the "extras" this year; I know it was last year.

I would say the exact same. If I were going to cancel one it would be Planet Hollywood..I was NOT impressed with the quality of food.........

I would pay for the Sci Fi lunch and The Crystal Palace Breakfast oop.
I would not cancel PH it was the best TS meal we had at WDW last year. Perfectly cooked steaks. The bill was aprox $110 inc appys for 2a 1c.
Enjoy your trip.

I'm going to say the Crystal Palace breakfast and Sci-Fi lunch to pay OOP. Those are two we'll be paying cash for this year (along with a couple others).
