Help - I am freaking out over rehabs

Add me to the list of the disappointed, but I understand they need to update/improve things.

We were last at Disney in 2000 and BTMRR closed November 1. We did get to ride it once the night of MNSSHP.

We were so looking forward to riding it again on our November 2003 trip but It looks like we might miss it.

Hopefully TOT will not still be closed then.

I am extrememly upset that Disney is closing what looks like A LOT of their premiere attractions! It makes zero sense to heavily market your parks and then have everything close down once you have patrons cash. I understand that Sept. is slow, but there but are other months that are slow too. In my opinion there is a list of premiere rides and there should never have more than one of them closed down at a time.

Space Mountain
Splash Mountain
BTMR
Tower of Terror
Test Track
Rock n' Roll RC

These are the rides that bring in the older crowds that travel in SEPTEMBER. How fun is it going to be to go on Snow White 800 times?

I wouldn't be so mad if one of them were closed while we are there, but the potential of 3 of them being closed in late Sept. makes me incredibly mad.

I completely understand the need to close attractions at certain times of the year, but why do it all at once?! I'm taking someone for the first time ever and the last time I was in WDW was many moons ago. I wish I would have known this sooner. I would have definitely scheduled differently.

This really really pi$$es me off!!

Everyone gets a little bummed out when a favorite attraction is going to be closed. I remember that the first two times my hubby went Space Mountain was closed -- both times! Finally he got to ride it on the 3rd try :-) Then my son (age 2 at the time) was so looking foward to IASW and it was closed! But you know what -- until just now I had totally forgotten about that ... we still had a great time!

If something is closed when we go I figure it will just give me time to do one of those less visited attractions that we often miss!

I do feel bad for the people who only get to go to Disney once and several are closed.

We went to WDW last September and about 3 weeks before we left for our trip it was announced that the Haunted Mansion was going to be closed (scheduled to open the day after we left). I was SO upset! This is our favorite attraction. I wished Disney had announced the rehab farther in advance - we probably would have re-scheduled our trip.

I did call Disney and e-mail them to complain, but of course, that didn't do any good . . . I didn't think it would but it made me feel a little better.

I'm not a fan of TOT or BTMRR or RNRC (translation-I'm a chicken) but I agree those are very popular attractions and I can't believe Disney would have them all down for rehab at the same time. :(

I fought tooth and nail to get my husband to agree to another trip this year, he had to beg for vacation time since he just started a new job, and guess what day we're going?

Yep. September 17 is when we arrive, the same day that they close the Tower of Terror. AND, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is closed too? These are his two favorite rides, two of the main reasons we go to Disney, and THEY'RE GOING TO BE CLOSED!! If they close the RNRC, we will have a stroke.

Now I am glad we're only spending two days at WDW before going across town...

I really love the TOT but I sure would not cancel my trip because it is closed for rehab. I am sure that during most months there is at least one or two things closed for rehab. The parks are open all year round there is no way all things can be open at all times.
There are plenty of things to see and do in WDW, go and enjoy what is open, maybe you will find an attraction you like even better than the one that is closed for rehab.
...and as other people have said, it is a good excuse to plan another trip.

I would really doubt that TOT and RNR would both be closed down for rehab at the same time.

First, everyone take a deep cleansing breath.. OK!

Now, that is done...

Do this:

Relax. All thse rumors flying around, aren't doing anything, but making others upset. Those that are mentioned are the jewels in the Disney crown, and in no way shpe or form they would have all those down.. (then it would be like Disneyland pre DCA!)

Hey, even Universal spread out the rehabs for not even the "major rides". Kong closed in September, Hanna Barbera closed in October, and Hitchcock I think closed in November.

Flash forward.. Jimmy Neutron (Hanna Replacement) opened maybe April/may? , and then Shrek (Hitchcock replacement) opened in June.. and Kong replacement (The Mummy coaster) won't be open until 2004..

My point is, they would not have all those down. I've also heard that the Lion King (Festival--not the one already closed), will be closed for a few weeks in August to enclose the theater. I've had that confirmed with a CM, but again, I'll beleive it when I see it.

I check rehab schedules daily, andyou should too.
