I have been trying to figure out where I need to stay for my December trip - it will be just 2 adults with annual passes.

I currently have a reservation at POFQ which is my favorite moderate. Love the size. But because this board I found out that I could get a studio from David's for just about the same price.

Now I can't decide where to stay - POFQ, BCV, WLV or AKV, (if the villas are available) I have stayed at all the above mentioned hotels but never the villas. Each one has it own selling points and that is why it is sooo hard for me to decide.

Which one would you pick? Please help me before I go crazy and if I am getting the villa I plan on doing it within the next 2 weeks.

More information is needed as we do not know what is the most important aspect of the trip for the two of you. I have a few questions:

You can get a king bed at a moderate - no dvc studio will have this. how much will you be spending time in the room or at the resort?

Does location to a theme park matter ? BCV gives you Epcot and the Studios, VWL has boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom, and AKL is close to the Animal Kingdom. Do any of these matter to you ?

Does Resort dining matter ? BCV has access to all the restaurants in the Epcot resort area, but AKV has some of the best resort restaurants in Disney - Boma, Jiko, Sanaa.

Does the themeing matter? My personal preference is AKL as this is one of the resorts we own at. I would stay there for this reason alone.

good luck in your decision.

It is 2 women so it would be 2 beds (or bed and sofa) - I love POFQ (I don't know why the grounds/size really appeal to me)

Beach Club has the wonderful location but not sure about the marketplace for breakfast (I stayed in concierge level when I stay at the resort) -only used the marketplace to refill mugs at the pool - it just looks small - any idea on how it is for breakfast?

Wilderness Lodge - the lobby at Christmas is just jaw dropping. When I stayed there had a very pleasant time. Roaring Forks was ok for breakfast - always hit it early though.

AKL - It is a very large resort and if you aren't on Zebra trail you could have a rather long walk to the Mara. But the Mara is good - plenty of room.

My friend - its her first trip and she is really into Christmas and decorations. That is why I am so torn. We will be on Deluxe Dining so we will be eating at many signature restaurants so we will be able to see the lobby decorations of the Deluxes but just staying at one is a plus also. I realize that if I stay at the BV or WLV I won't be going through the lobby every time but it will be very close.

I love BWV and that is where we always stay but we get a 2 bedroom. We love the location and the atmostphere but I would not do a studio for 2 adults that do not want to share the same bed. I think the fold our couch would get old.

Based on what I have highlighted I would suggest that you stay at POFQ or possibly POR (my preference of the two.) If it is a recently refurbished room it should have two queen beds so that would help make more comfortable for the two of you. The only DVC studios that have 2 queens are at Old Key West, and this was not one of the choices you listed. Since you are doing a number of signature restaurants and want to view the resort Christmas decorations it might be wise to rent a car if you are flying in. This would make it much easier to resort hop and save you travel time to your out of park dining destinations.

Unless one of you doesn't mind sleeping on the pull out, I'd stay at POR or FQ for the 2 queen beds.

The convenience of the small kitchenette is is a non issue.....rarely used it...the sofa sleeper is a pain....open as a bed, nowhere to sit comfortably...

We jsut prefer the regular rooms with the 2 queens over a studio villa...and the villas are usually located off the main building which makes for a little extra travel to QS and lounges....

We are big fans of WL though....it's compactness and being located on the lakes with boat travel to the MK, CR and FW a huge plus to us.....plenty of dining around the MK loop and we visit the MK more than any other park, (and it's just the wife and I both in our 60's)....

Tough choices but we go by location, what and where we will spend the most time and do things easily in that area....and again, studios don't offer much in comfort but the little kitchenette amenity....one bedroom would be better but with extra size comes extra price and a regular room with 2 queens gives us everything we want.....good luck!

Having stayed at AKL in the villas, I would highly recommend it...we loved everything about it. I would go with BC next; WL holds no appeal to me.

I have stayed with three other adults at POR and two other adults at SSR in the studio.

We felt we had much more room at POR, than SSR, believe it or not.

I ended up on the sofa bed all week and by the third day, I was sick of it. No support, pillows everywhere, we had to put the coffee table out on the 1 person patio just to get it out of the way when I opened the bed.

Closet space was taken up by extra linens and the vacuum cleaner. We only had one sink, instead of two.

I hated the CS at SSR, love it at POR.

Quite honestly, I would have to agree, unless you are both planning on sleeping in the queen sized bed, I would go for POR or POFQ.

Thanks everyone - I have being thinking about it again today at work - I think that I will stay with POFQ. I love the idea of finding a "deal" because the studios were almost the same price as a moderate and they are with the deluxe hotels but ... just because it is "on sale" doesn't mean you have to buy it.

I have a car so getting around won't be an issue if we stay at POFQ.
