Ok so this was the ultimate I told you so momemt. But ith that all said and done and the trailer is now headed to be fixed. It has to be fixed ASAP in order to be sure it is ready for the Fort in Otober.

So now on to my question. Can anybody recommemd some sites that are easier to back into than others. I know some are super tight and no DH is a little nervous since the "I told you so incident". So now I was hoping if others had some insight as to easier back in sites. I know I can only reccomend but with some pixie dust I might just get what I need.

Any help woud be appreciated

:confused3 :confused3 :confused3 By the way no one was hurt and the tree was still standing. Compleatly ripped the front of our awning off the trailer and scratced the fiberglass sides but i guess it could have been worse he could have taken off the whole side.

Your poor husband! Watching for obstructions like that is just something that he will have to get used to. I would think that most campground would keep things trimmed up so that doesn't happen to people.

I don't think you will have a problem at Disney! Everything is pretty wide open. You can call to confirm your reservation and tell them that you need a site that has no obstructions or tell them when you check in.

We use our radios to communicate back and forth when DH is backing into a tight spot. It eliminates sreaming back and forth at each other, although we have done that too!

Good Luck!

I hate to differ with some people but the last two times at FW we had very tight spots at the Fort. This June our spot had a large pine on either side of the site at the entry and they were touching the driveway and also had one about halfway that was halfway in the site. It can be a little tough sometimes but it won't stop us from going back, 10 days in Dec for Christmas. Even though some of the spots are tough to park its still worth it. Be sure and tell them when you make Resv. how large your camper is, maybe how larger it really is.

For me, a site on the left side of the road is easier to back in to than one on the right. I can see the trailer as it turns without using the mirrors. DW watches the backside.

There are some very tight spots at the Fort, and they can be made "tighter" if the folks in surrounding sites have their vehicles right at the edge or hanging over the edge of their sites. If you're really worried, get a premium site. They have more concrete and wider aprons. I didn't see a premium site that we couldn't have gotten our 45' motorhome into. My DH generally (but not always) finds that sites on the outside of a loop are easier to maneuver into than those on the inside of a loop. Before Disney had the premium sites, I always called several days before we arrived and told them that we needed a site that was easy to get into and that was our #1 priority. 90% of the time we got a site that was pretty easy to get into. They've never assigned us a site we couldn't get into, although I've seen others who had to return to the office because they couldn't get into their sites. Folks at the Fort are pretty friendly and willing to help, so don't hesitate to ask your neighbors for assistance if you're having trouble getting in.

I have never had a problem backing into a spot at the Fort. I will say I have given some of the other Fort fans some "entertainment" trying to back into a site. Nextel's if you have them work great or buy a cheap set of personal two-way radios and use them for the blind spots. I usually only get concerned when I see fellow Fort fans bringing over their lawn chairs and coolers!!:rotfl2:

Wow this thread is headed on 3 years old, how did you find it ? :lmao:
