my pc was just infected with bogus spyware -- pc antispyware 2010--- anyone know how to remove????

put the name of the virus in a search and you SHOULD be able to find a solution. I have spybot, a free spyware program that you can download yourself, but I am unsure if your virus has been added to their program....I don't even know how to tell!

Download Avast. Very good antivirus program. It'll get it out for you.

Avast and spybot are what my best friends hubby who is a computer guy had me use.

Try Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, pretty good.

Do you have any sort of protection...norton, mcafee, avg free? I have avg free and it does a pretty good job blocking stuff like that.

I second this one, we had a really bad virus like that last year and this is the only program that got rid of it. You can usually type in whatever virus is infecting your computer in to a search and it'll bring up all sorts of sites that have information on how to get rid of it...etc. That's how we found Malware.

We got something once and my husband used a recovery disk that came with the computer. He was able to bring the computer back to before we got the virus. He went back a week. We lost the photos that we had dowm loaded during that time and some emails I think. Then we updated our virus stuff.
good luck

I used Webroot antivirus program..it is about 40bucks but well worth it....It blocks out everything!!

This is the program that finally got rid of the AVGcopy virus that I had a few months ago. What a headache! :( The AVG that I had used for years didn't catch it but Malwarebytes did thank goodness!

I got this even with avast - and the "virus" kept running, so it was impossible for avast to remove it bc the file was in use. I did a system restore (or a "go back") to the date just before I was infected. Make sure you back up any important documents and stuff before you do that. Luckily, it worked.

hi i just got rid of a nasty virus tried everything everyone told you didn't work the virus was called anti-trust and nothing but norton 360 worked the virus wouldn't even let me get on line my virus wasn't even registered yet i went to walmart to my the disk and put it in and ran it then i could get on line and updated it and that took it off

webroot spysweeper + antivirus is one of the best programs I have found. I HIGHLY recommend it.

That's the software we use in my office, and I have it at home as well. I also run Malwarebytes and it picks up some things that Webroot misses.

I've found that no one thing works, one product gets what another misses. I've found the key is to have one AV that is updated daily and several others that I run every few days. I've used the spybot, adaware, malwarbytes and ccleaner. If I get a nasty, I research it and figure out what to do from there. I also use firefox, after reading about the "holes" in internet explorer I switched. I'm not saying ff is the be-all, end-all but I think it helps. Plus there are cool little extensions that make it just a bit more fun to use ;)

op here-----i have avg and ad-aware ans somehow this still got thru--- its really annoying--it keeps a likes its a anit-virus program-- running fake scans-- telling me my computer is infected( duh!!!!!!!) and wanted me to buy/download their bogus program---
what is wrong with these people that come up with these anyoing trojans etc--they really now how to disrupt someones day!!!!!!!!!!

i just downlowed malwarebytes anti-malware ----keep fingures crossed

Is this the virus that would show a pop-up from AVG stating that your computer was unprotected and to click for updated protection?
That is what I have now, and it gets annoying everytime I turn on my computer.

My computer had that. I couldn't get rid of it no matter what I tried. I finally started from scratch reloading windows etc. I backed up whatever I could but did loose some stuff.

op here---
thank you , thank you, thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware found it and took it right off!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
