The kids spilled a bit of acrylic paint on the carpet. The bottle says "permanant". Any ideas of what to do? It came off easily from their hands with soap and water.

I can totally recommend Henry's Carpet Cleaner!! I got it at QVC and it works fantastic! My kids one time had turned the printer upside down on the brand new berber carpet in the living room (don't ask how my daughter got a pen stuck inside of it!!). They fixed the printer but discovered a saucer sized spot of black ink!! My youngest quickly grabbed a paper towel to clean it up...all she managed to do was make the saucer-sized spot into a huge dinner plate sized one!! :rolleyes2 I grabbed the spray, used a brush, blotted...and within 5 minutes, there was no more ink!! Recently I had gotten fabric paint on my pink fleece shirt. Nothing took it out. Thought I had nothing to lose, grabbed the stuff...and poof! No more paint!! :teeth:

Here's a link!

Thanks for the advice. After much blotting and shop vaccing, I managed to get it all out. I guess it wasn't permanent after all, although it didn't come out of the clothes. Maybe I will try the cleaner for the clothes. Thanks for the link. :)

I was going to suggest acetate -- found in name polish remover.

My dad was shaking a gallon of paint once in the garage, and heard something on tv in the adjoining den that caught his attention. He stepped just inside the den & had a seat on the arm of the sofa -- while still shaking the paint. Yup, you guessed it. The cover came off......and paint all over the carpet!!!! He freaked. Luckily, he keeps acetate in the garage. Got it all cleaned up BEFORE my mother got home. I, of course, was sworn to never tell her what he had done. LOL, she gets home.....& wonders why all she can smell in the house is acetate. :lmao:

You could also try 3M Car Upholstery cleaner (spray foam). My young niece had a magic marker in her backpack. Wanted to sit in front seat of my 3 DAY OLD car....and wanted to continue to wear her new backpack. Well, somehow cap came off marker, soaked thru backpack & onto seat in an area about 4" x 7". My DSIL was about to KILL her daughter. I have no idea why I remaind so calm. I honestly thought nothing would take it out...and thought I would have to go back to the dealer & get a new seat. LOL DH went to Walmart & bought this stuff. He sprayed & just kept blotting. It took 2 days to get it all out since it soaked into the foam....but it ALL came out. (light tan upholstery & black marker) My DSIL was SOOOOOO relieved....and was ready to write the company a letter for an awesome commercial. BTW, this was Christmas EVE...and they kept telling niece that Santa wasn't bringing her any presents. Poor kid!!!! Oh,...and the backpack came clean too -- not that anyone cared at that point. So try that on the kid's clothes.

My dog stepped in paint, then on my son's coat.

I got it out easily with goof off.

Still looking for something to get red koolaid out of browniish carpet.
